Thanks Clive 🙏🏻 we truly appreciate you watching and subscribing! It’s Sophie here and I swear I’ve not touched any of those tape measures 😂 they just go missing!
Going through all your van building vids! Lots of good advice and your experiences are helping me in my conversion of my 2018 LWB Sprinter. Thanks guys! ATB
Brilliant video guys, really feel for you working full time and weekends for the van. Weekends go fast enough without the extra hassle of a conversion going on. Keep up the very entertaining series.
Cheers for the comment - you’re so right, the weekends absolutely fly by and it’s a lot of work to add on, thankfully it’s not forever so we’ll just crack on until it’s done 🙌🏻Glad you’re enjoying!
And we love you for coming on the journey with us John, as cack handed as it is 😂 things generally seem to work out alright in the end! Thanks for your comment and support 🙌🏻👍🏻
So impressive - I know you’ve said how difficult it is to do this but I didn’t truly realise how much effort went in. I particularly love seeing the cats!
Thanks for your comment and for subscribing Alex - happy to have you here! That’s great to hear too, we try to be positive in general and glad it’s coming across! It’s all just a bit of fun isn’t it 🙌🏻😄
Hey! I really don't know how you both work full time and spend your weekends converting a van but hats off to you both! you must be shattered all the time? Great video as always and looking forward to next one! 😁
Thanks so much! Yeah it’s a lot of work, especially now with RUclips added in too 😂 but we’re loving it and the van build won’t last forever so we’re just cracking on 🙌🏻 cheers for the support, we really appreciate it👍🏻
just as a tip, your roof windows inner piece has a maximum width of the roof, and you have exceeded it, some roof windows has different heights of those inner trims to fit with thicker roofs. i think in this case you should install the inner trim first and then clad it around it, otherwise you have to order different trim.. thumbs up for you two ! it isnt never easy 😃
@@lifeadventureprojects thank you yes my channel is about me as I grow up, I am a nearly 2 year old border collie who's been camping many of times, walked up snowdon and back and many adventures
Brilliant videos! Natural and like most of us do things - learning as we go. A few hiccups but get there in the end. Keep the faith, you'll get it finished!!
Great conversion of your Sprinter van! The only comment I would like to make is that I thought I saw some cables through the body of the van being unprotected, please check that carefully to prevent short circuits/failures in the future. Due to vibrations, it sometimes happens that the insulation around the cables wears out and causes malfunctions that can even lead to a fire! As a former professional commercial vehicle builder, that was the first thing that was told, never an unprotected cable through the body.
Thanks very much, the ones on the drive side will be protected. Question though, I have put all my cables behind cladding running along the corner, the part above the door is in conduit but the rest I left and tied to the van. Will that be okay as has quite a lot of space and is not through any sharp parts or the van.
@@lifeadventureprojects No thanks, many eyes see more than four and so you can help each other to give you both many years of enjoyment from the campervan. What I meant were wires that come through the body without rubber grommet around it, you can easily solve this by putting a piece of hose or something around it so that it cannot be damaged. Good luck with the build and will definitely follow you as it's nice to see how each person realizes their own ideas!
Your channel came up as a recommended channel to watch, not sure why as I can't hang washing out correctly let alone build a DIY camper van. I've subscribed & binged watched all of your videos & it's great. This is better then some of the Netflix series out there , very entertaining watching yourselves just getting on with it & working things out as you go along 🛠
wow - it is comments like these that makes creating videos worth it. Any chance you could get us a Netflix deal? 😂 Thanks for taking the time to watch the videos, great to have you join us! 👏
Question ; why did you leave a void between the cladding and the vapour barrier , could you not have stuffed that void with Rockwool or Fibreglass fireproof insulation , surely every possible space should be stuffed with insulation ?? Anyhoo , great content and lovely pussycat , I look forward to your continuing build , have fun
Thanks bud. I think the gap looks bigger on camera. We have insulation on the roof and a vapour barrier. Having a small gap is good and is often said to be good practice. But now you said it I will relook tomorrow! Thanks for your support, it is really appreciated!
Problem with dark wood it makes the area feel smaller and your ceiling lower , think i would have used insulated pvc cladding in white with the gold or silver strips between each tongue and groove similar to whats used in home bathrooms it would make it lighter and brighter overall , Also your LED lighting ! purchase the correct ones that you can put a dimmer switch on instead of full power brightness. Not to sure about your rear doors carpeted fully , thats going to be a soggy sponge if it gets wet in the rain next to your bedding. A little more planning for each weekend of supplys you need, going to B/Q each week is eating up your time badly.
For me (Andy) this was a mandatory requirement, I can’t stand feeling unwashed. However I may learn the same and the second van will rid of it. I do hear they often get unused but the upside is quite a good wet room. Lol
Great vlog guys... 2k subs already 😲 well done !!! Keep it up 👆 If you have any sprinter build specific questions you can ask me over on Instagram... mighted have all the answers but happy to help if I can.... 👍
Well done! There is even a defined centerline of the cladding. I cheer for you and applaud you for also showing the parts that go wrong!
Yeah we’re not sure how we managed that to be honest 😂 thank you, we really appreciate the nice comments and support 😊🙏🏻
Glad I. Am not the only one to lose my tape !all the time . New subscriber 👍👍👌👌

Thanks for the comment! Yes, we’re figuring something out for the ceiling skylight, but yes a smaller gap would have been good 😁😬
Love watching your videos. ‘As it happens’ ‘real life’ brilliant 👍 Keep it up. Live and learn- your next van conversion will be easy 😂
Thanks very much! ❤️ - I can’t think about the next one just yet - I may break 😂
Doing a grand job, my master and mummy are potentially buying a van this weekend!
Ahhh that’s so exciting! You’ll have a whale of a time in a van! Let us know if you do go for it 😃
Is it possible Soph missed that she was talking to a dog? I hope your masters get the Van Maya - you will get to go on so many walks!

Great video very interesting 😊 well done
Thanks Rickon! We are certainly excited to get it completed.
Put zone one switch near the door. So you don't have to enter in the dark.
Hey Marcus! Yes that’s the plan! Zone one switch near the door, then zone two will have one near the door and the bed - great minds!
Don’t worry too much about content, I’m sure you two could make a trip to the shops entertaining.
“Welcome to Tesco” 😂

Pre painting cladding stops the tongue’s fitting into the grooves ! Like watching how not to van build
We knew this was a risk but as it’s the ceiling decided to pre varnish - thankfully all worked out fine!

Cheers for the comment Misha! Yep we’re getting dimmer switches and will see how back doors hold up! 👍🏻
Another problem with using timber Studs, framework and panels is all wood attracts and holds moisture
nice any new vids
Sure is Phil. Sadly been delayed but creating a kitchen unit, been tough!
I think a permanent shower is a waste of space, so many end up just being used for needed storage.
For me (Andy) this was a mandatory requirement, I can’t stand feeling unwashed. However I may learn the same and the second van will rid of it. I do hear they often get unused but the upside is quite a good wet room. Lol
