Yes it does very well. My dad had always kept the oil changed and blades sharpened. He got him a new riding mower and gave this one to me a couple years ago.
Great video and nice lawn tractor! 👍 It seems like it cuts tall grass very easy. I have a old Craftsman lawn tractor too that i want to use to cut tall grass on a little field here on my farm. The only thing i would do with it is to put on some bigger tires to get more ground clearance, it looks like the deck dont need any modifications.
@@BSS22193 Thank you for watching and commenting. I keep my lawn more manageable now so it's pretty routine. My dad bought it new years ago and gave it to me when he got a new Cub Cadet. Dad passed this February. He always took immaculate care of everything he owned. We have his 2005 mustang GT that has 6k miles and has never been rained on. He always loved Craftsman things. You should post a video of your Craftsman.
Yes that's a good suggestion. I'll definitely keep that in mind in the future. I normally don't let my grass grow that tall but it had rained a lot. I appreciate you all watching the video. I hope to start posting more things soon. I'm new to the RUclips creator world I hope to gain a bunch of new friends on here. I definitely don't have any shortage of projects on the to do list. Haha
I cringe everytime I see this model, Growing up my neighbor had one of these. He was a pain in the everything disputed the building of our garage over 2 inches of claimed property then after refuses 2" of claimed propoerty would use this mower and blow grass in our driveway then sit on it and call the cops over everything. Get this that mower after 20 years is STILL running and another neighor across the ally has it now and its still running!

If you mow counter clockwise, your blades only have to cut through the new grass and not the clippings piled on top too! Easier on the engine.

What engine is on it
Says 12hp on the hood so I'm guessing it was like mine when I was about 16 years old, the Briggs & Stratton 12 horsepower flathead lol.
@@DavidNeal-2891 Yes it's the original factory engine. Everything is pretty much original except the seat and a couple tires I believe.
What year was that mower, we used to have one and it worked awesome. I would love to find a other one on marketplace but theyre pretty scarce now.
