It's so nice to see Allan getting some of the attention he deserves ❤❤❤ I was so tempted to get this doll.

I'm still kicking myself that I didn't get the vintage one I was watching on eBay, but this Allan is a good substitute. Also he is so heavy he would make a great paperweight.

This makes me wish even more that they'd released more Ken dolls from last year's movie. Great review! It's interesting how dolls' bodies changed over the years!

I find it odd that the Ryan Gosling Ken face dropped months AFTER the film had come out! I didn't like that grinning face that they initially used for movie Ken because it looked like Ellen Degeneres. I think the body on Allan is very of it's time, very wide shoulders and slim waist, I presume the same would be said for comparing vintage and modern Barbies too. 🥰🌈

I’ve also not seen a silk stone in person. Enjoyed learning about this doll

I was always interested in them because the majority of them tend to be very retro looking. I'm glad I got this one. Because of the weight of them they feel much more like display pieces.

I had to get my silkstone barbie out to hold while I watched this - silkstone is wonderfully heavy and smooth. Congrats on your silkstone Allan! Your photos always bring out the best in your dolls, and Allan looks quietly confident and expressive here. I never thought much about Allan in the past, but got to like him a lot after seeing the movie. Happy Pride!

I found the weight most surprising, I knew that it would probably feel heavier but wasn't quite prepared for HOW heavy it would feel. I like the heaviness of him, it definitely feels like a quality item, but also feels like very much a display piece. I do really like Allan's face, I'm glad he wasn't just Ken but with different hair. I think the film definitely more Allan back into the public eye again 🥰🌈

And heavy, like potential murder weapon HEAVY! If "Murder, She Wrote" was still on TV you can be sure that a Silkstone doll have made an appearance.

I love this video March and love your opening shade of corporations rainbow-washing. I love Allan - and now I wish I had gotten that Allan because I have the anniversary silkstone Ken. :D Allan is such a good looking retro doll - giving me all kinds of nostalgia! :D

Congratulations on your first Silkstone. I didn't really know much about Allan but he does seem appropriate for Pride month! I'm hoping to join in with your collab at the end of the month though I'm not sure yet which of my dolls will be a good representative.
Funnily enough I also got my very first Silkstone recently. The Entertainer had Midge on offer for £38.99, how could I not? 😄 I'm hoping to get her out of the box soon but have to make her an outfit first.
I wonder if you'll get any more Silkstones? ❤️💙💚🤎💛

Thank you - I was surprised by how heavy Allan was, obviously because of the different type of material that he's made from. It would really depend on the the doll on whether I got another Silkstone or not. I have seen a couple which I wish I had gotten when they came out, but because they are collector editions the price of them tends to increase quite a bit. I think because of the weight they definitely feel much more like display pieces than dolls you could have fun playing with. I hope you enjoy your Midge and looking forward to what you come up with for Dolly Pride Parade 🥰🌈

Allan would have been a great companion piece for the Silkstone Ken, but at least you have another Silkstone doll who can be Ken's friend coming your way. There is definitely a very retro feel for the Allan doll, his head sculpt in particular seems very of it's time.

Your silk stone Allan doll is super cute. I have never held one but I hear they are heavier. His clothes look good quality. Too bad his articulation is quite limited. He could use a tan! Lol. 😂 I liked the idea of displaying him standing in the open box. So nice to have in your collection! I sold my Allan doll and wish I had kept him after I saw the movie. Thanks for sharing March! Happy Pride.

Yes, he is very heavy! Although I knew he would feel different he does feel more of display object than a doll that could be redressed and played with etc. I presume that his articulation is the same as the original release, but also because of being Silkstone and with the body being solid, I'm not sure how much articulation they can give them. Yes, I think that the Barbie film really bought Allan back, they should give him a modern interpretation but still be true to his original face sculpt.

I had never seen it either, until Allan arrived. The pieces is quite heavy so definitely feels much more of a decorative object that a doll who should be getting played with.
