    Wonderful lesson. Thank you.
    A lot of times when I intend to smash or clear harder I feel a sudden twist in my shoulder joint which pains for a few seconds and goes away. I think I am doing a mistake. It frustates me. I have been playing for six months now, so a beginner.
    Any advice regarding this will be highly appreciated.

    Hello Coach Kennie, I subscribed and watched all your videos besides many from others. All your videos are good and keep up your good work! What I like the most are your exercise videos! I been playing for decades but mostly with just one grip. I watched most all videos on RUclips about grip. You all explain different grips in words like "use the other side beveled edge etc.and some show the handle but hard to make out where you are holding since all sides of the handle in wrapped in one color. May I suggest you take one of your old racket, put different color electrical tape or paint on all eight sides of the racket handle and then take a close up video on how to hold the racket for every situation. I will wait to hear from you before I ask any other coach. Also, I bought some big amount USD lottery tickets today. If I win, I like to hire you as my personal coach! Happy and prosperous Year 2023!

      It is good that you know where you’re making a mistake, practice your smashes while constanly being conscious not to rotate the grip. I think the reason why your smashes go to the net is not just the grip upon hitting you probably pull down your elbow while hitting that smash. Check on that... 😁🏸

    Hi Coach. I'm 53 years old and I went back to badminton about 2 years ago. I play only 2-4 times a month on a recreational level. I have a question about "tennis elbow." It seems I've developed it from my playing. I don't notice any swelling but pain persists, especially when I do the smash motion. Is it because I'm doing the wrong technique or is it because of age, or both!? Thanks for any tips!

    • @CoachKennieAsuncion
      @CoachKennieAsuncion  3 года назад

      Check tension of your racket coz it might be too high and the vibration could cause the elbow pain coz that’s what happend to me. For me it has nothing to do with age but if you are totally not doing anything else and only play 2-4x a month maybe you need to consider strenghthening your entire arm... And maybe when you do play you exaggerated play so many games? But ofcourse wrong way of hitting could contribute to it. Check all possible causes. While you’re at it, ice elbow for 15 min after playing & see if that helps😁🏸

      Watch him do full swings at 11:08 and compare it to Goh V Shem from malaysia (professional player). They both jump high and then hit hard. From what I've known, its actually better if you jump higher so the angle of your smash goes deeper, which would then make it harder to defend.
      If you're worried that he'll get too tired doing that, that's when endurance will come into play. And by the looks of it he's fit enough to be able to do that for a long period of time 😁
