GoPro Sparring two rounds

- Me and a friend tried adding a couple of GoPro's on him while doing some light sparring to see how it would turn out. I'm the one you can see, he's the one wearing the cameras. We are not trying to "win", just wanted to see what it would look like.
Got too into watching this. My hands and feet started reacting to it
Glad you enjoyed it :) It's weird watching this for me now, 5-6 years of more training since this video was made. I think I only had been training for about 2 years when I made the video. Good times, good times.
EricJ0hansson would be nice to see updated version
@@EricJ0hansson make a new one. Your channel will go viral for sure. It's unique content and more people watch fight videos now than ever before.
@@EricJ0hansson oh man this makes me want to make a video like this and rewatch it in a decade, would be extra weird as I'm planning to change gyms soon
Recently watched UFC fighters and boxers do the same thing. Fighters like Canelo, Ruiz, Francis, cowboy and many others, give us a different perspective on how the move/ react to certain areas of a fight.
First of all, this video is way cool. It's a unique feeling having someone throwing punches and kicks at you. It was not hard to see when your partner was ready to attack and he was able to keep you off balance. You needed to attack him more. Cool stuff... hope you have more vids.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! I'm not sure who you are reffering too, I'm the one you can see and a training partner is wearing the camera. We just wanted to see how it would look so this is just light sparring without any warmup where we give and take. No one is trying to win or "take over" so to speak.
I'm thinking about doing a new version of this btw. This one is a couple of years old.
Make a new one
EricJ0hansson please make a new video.
the best full basement conversion I have ever seen.
That cheeky bit of hand movement at 4:52 tho 😂
i don't know why but it is really entertaining to watch
Henry Prutton it really is lol.
Unless you have great head and foot movement and fast hands, countering is really tough. The few times I've sparred, it seems like I've fared better attacking instead of waiting.... and changing levels to keep him guessing. My usual sparring partner is a bit bigger with a longer reach so I have to work hard on jabbing and getting in and out. Hope you put a new video up soon. Thanks.
A few seconds after watching my legs and arms started twitching as if I was shadowboxing it something 😂 Anyways great content, love it!
Here before this gets recommend to everyone. Will happen cause this is too intense
Thanks Eric. Even though it was light, it looked like you were getting off better and landed a few solid punches. Toward the end I was yelling at your partner to punch! Good show.
Haha you should come to our training and tell him that! Because you are right ;) I usually like to pressure people and he usually likes to counter. So if I don't attack not much will happen.
A cool way to improve your own game by watching yourself from the opponents angle. Very cool stuff. Pro-Tip: don't play chillout track while sparring :D
The music make it better😂
Feels like the boxing version of chivalry: medieval warfare😂
I searched fight PoV and got exactly what I wanted lol
Amazing video,love it.
This will be what fighting games will look like in 15 or so years
This is amazing
This is early footage of Creed VR Champions edition, you cannot convince me otherwise
this the perfect pace to train at and get better
Bro why am i exhausted just watching it hahaha
Amazing sparring. Intensity is really great as well. Nice video!
Pov you are getting beat up at the gym.
Guy with the camera Def gotta learn to see opening but great videos guys
I use this Alot with my oculus headset it doesn’t get the feeling for strikes but it definitely improves sparring
where's my joystick?!
Thats a great home gym
A counter always flows over the first punch that gets thrown at you.
This gave me so much anxiety. I felt like i was really sparring again and was getting punched lol.
cool stuff ! what camera are you using? I own the go pro hero 4 but never used it in sparring , because i am afraid it will damage the camera
Hi, I'm using a GoPro, can't remember exactly which one but it could be Hero 4. But it's in a case so it can't really get damaged. We are using head strap and chest mount but this video only shows the head strap.
Awesome ! I will definitely try that ! :)
this was really great, helped me learn alot from watching this
it's so weird to see sparring from someone else's POV
Hey Eric, great video, can you show us (or explain) your set up? My camera keeps falling off the helmet when i tried. Good sparring
Hi! Thank you! It's nothing fancy I just use a simple standard head strap! No helmet or anything. It seemed to stay on quite well, unless we went to hard they we had to adjust it. But light sparring like this wasn't a problem for us.
Something like this: static.bhphoto.com/images/images500x500/1380599650000_999128.jpg
@@EricJ0hansson Thank you, looking foward to more videos!
Awesome video, are you using the head strap mount as well?
+Josh Neen Yes, we are using head strap mount and a chest cam as well! But that is not used in this video.
it looks to me we have the same problem, instead of atacking, i usually just try to respond to what he does and just throw some jabs at most,im affraid of atacking in fear of getting punched, gotta man up
I wish real fights were like that
Instead of just a bunch of random punches one of which will inevitably land
Why do I feel tired when I watch any sparrings?
ChatGPT says:
It is possible that watching sparrings can trigger a stress response in your body, leading to the release of stress hormones such as cortisol and adrenaline. This response can cause physiological changes such as increased heart rate, blood pressure, and muscle tension, which can leave you feeling tired or drained after the experience.
Additionally, if you are not used to watching sparrings or combat sports, the intensity of the experience may be overwhelming and require a lot of mental and emotional energy to process. This can also contribute to feelings of fatigue or exhaustion.
It is important to note that everyone reacts differently to different types of stimuli, so it is possible that watching sparrings may simply not be an enjoyable or engaging experience for you personally, which can also contribute to feelings of tiredness or disinterest.
dude where is this? set up is dope, id love to convert my spot into somethin like this
It's in Stockholm! A great little basement ;)
Sparring to Michael Jackson. Y’all different breeds fr.
Now you can play it back and use it for shadow sparring
🔥🔥🔥👊👊👊
Haha this reminds me of boxing on wii
Chin kick, jab, right (haymaker) jab, low kick snap and right again
Definitely not haymaker those will get you knocked out
mano, pq essa música?
feel like im being battered
Is it illegal to catch somones leg when they kick or is it hard because of the gloves?
In training it all depends on what you agree on, in competition it depends on the rule set, usually it's allowed. Sometimes you are allowed to sweep, sometimes only throw one counter and then you have to let go. So it all depends! Since my training partner had two cameras on him we decided not to sweep or mess with the balance too much.
It's usually not a problem to grab the leg with big gloves though. But if you grab it you often can't block it.
Can you tell me how you attached the GoPro?
It's just a standard head strap! Since we went easy and he doesn't do too much headmovement it seemed to work ;)

@@EricJ0hansson Thank you so much. Really appreciate it.
How and where did you attach your gopro!?
Just a normal GoPro headstrap used in this video. Just try not to hit it ;)
Start picking your knees up.
Just do it all the time. Practice lifting at all times light, sided to side as well, knee lift. Then when you don't need to you'll know it. And duck at the same time, tuck, and brushover, cause if they can't kick your legs, they may favor the head. Roll with the punches cause they keep on comin'! Cheers! Good rounds!
Hi! Which style I use depends on what rules I'm competing under. Sounds like you are describing a traditional thai (and dutch kickboxing) stance? I use that in some cases, but prefer more fluid footwork and angles - especially for MMA and boxing. If I notice the opponent lands low kicks I will obviously adapt / adjust though!
With that said, this video is almost 9 years old and I had only trained martial arts for about a year. And by now I probably don't have many more fights in me tbh, turning 40 in a way too near future. Time flies.
Also, I'm not sure if you are referring to me (the person you see in the video) or my friend who is wearing the GoPro's.
But thanks for the feedback and thans for watching!
@@EricJ0hansson brother all the people here thinked that you are the one holding the gopro!!! Hahahahah

bro how do you setup the camera safely?
Just a normal headstrap mount! We go easy and I try not to punch the camera on his forehead ;)
