I am 65 and prefer a recumbent trike. When you come upon some walkers with bikes coming from the other direction at the same time, you can come to a quick stop without having to maintain your balance. A super big difference. This situation happened to you early on and some seniors jumped back in an effort to keep things clear for your oncoming bike. I welcome the chance to stop and talk to other such seniors about the world of recumbent trike riding that is a world of wonder open and just waiting for them to discover it.

Orlando, Florida is the home of Catrike. Their newest model is the EOLA which is the name of the lake in Orlando. But they have an excellent array of different models with the most desirable folding ones as well. Terra Trikes of Michigan is an American manufacturer. And TRIOT Trikes in Utah is a third and excellent trike manufacturer in the U.S. For seniors who wish they could still be riding, they definitely can even if they have balance issues. I don't know how many trike dealerships there are in Florida and where they are located, but arranging for a test ride of different models is a super great idea for everyone to take advantages of these wonderful trails.

Hi Mike.. This trail is 8 miles one way and 8 miles back. I ran 8 miles in 20 minutes at 18-19 miles per hour., It's a nice trail.

When it comes to riding bikes or trikes on narrow highways, the recent tragic death of James Dobson in Mississippi, gives all of us important pause to evaluate the process of adopting additional safety measures that give motorists fast approaching us from behind, the earliest possible visual notification of our presence. With recumbent trikes, you can have double wide whips with a light weight connecting bridge stem or two at the 6 ft. high level or higher. On that, you can have a super bright flashing light facing the rear so even stacked up vehicles can see you ASAP. Get ready to see more seniors on recumbent trikes. FOLDING ones are the best!
