my buddy's know em too. korey is a pretty cool dude, i hung out with him for a bit after the show here in AZ. i love how they play old school reggae for an oncore
Saw them maybe a year or two ago in Charlotte, NC with Dropkick Murphys. I had never heard of them, but after their set, I didn't give a shit about seeing Dropkick! i was completely blown away. These guys are HELLA-AWESOME!!!!!
Ska came from the fusion of the off-beat in jazz with the us r n'b of the 50's, together with jamaican music of the 50's ie mento and calypso. It slowed down around 1967 with the hot summer to become briefly rocksteady. Skinhead reggae followed up to around '69 / 70 wherupon reggae took over. Dub (remixes) of reggae and rocksteady tracks using DJ 'toasters' like Uroy was the final phase of the reggae revolution of the '70s. The rest is, as they say, history. Sorry, I went on a bit there.
I saw these guys at their first show... They opened for Derrick Morgan as the rough and tough allstars and they played a bunch of Lee Perry covers and it sounded great. They did a great job backing him as well... Then I have to admit I didn't like em for their earlier years. Pop the trunk was a deal breaker. But they've gotten much better over time. Now I like them as a band and they represent LA so.... Congrats Aggrolites on all your successes!
i love that when they come out on stage you think "holy shit these guys look hardcore as shit!" but then they bust out with that chill ass ska guitar and jam the fuck out!
@evanparker Pretty sure it's a Vox or Hammond M3... It's a chop and if you look in LA's Craigslist music section... the dude that built an organ or two for Roger (from the Aggros), can be easily found. He sells Hammond Organs and posts a lot of ads. Search for Hammond Organ... and you'll see his ads. If you email him, he'll probably email you back with specifics on the organ. Cheers
Actually, romasflame, reggae has incorporated blues and soul since the 50's. It's that style that the original mods and skinheads listened too. They were black AND white. Ska also came from this eventually.
Korey was in the original line up. Scott(white drummer) came in for the "The Aggrolites" self title album (red album) and Korey came back. Personally, I prefer Scott's drum style. Scott has more of a "traditional skinhead reggae" 60's style, whereas Korey has a bit more 70s funk influence.
Same story here. It was funny, because a bunch of people moved back and were like "Its gonna be a fucking reggae band". I was like "Fuck yes" and moved up. Then they came on and rocked it and there C.D.s they had sold out.
Ska's normally more fast paced and usually dosen't have the organ as much as Reggae tends to. Just like Reggae dosent have as much horns as Ska does, but the basic idea is the same.
Talent? Nah. Skill? To a certain extent. I will admit that it's really hard to play guitar solos/riffs fast, or drum fast while playing it clean, but that doesn't make you good. First off, as romasflame said, this is reggae, and lots of people like it. And if you don't, then don't waste your time searching for it on RUclips and trying to get a rise out of people by saying negative things.
u guys dont know shit abt music... thats sad! this is fucking reggay, cant u tell by the heavy bass and drums, the guitar shuffle and the hammond organ??? this is basic knowledge.

Yeah, def one of the best ska bands out there. Although they do look like they're just about to rock out to some punk tunes.
fucking great

They aren't a patch on Peter André
🔥
Bad Ass
What organ is that?!?
Same story here. It was funny, because a bunch of people moved back and were like "Its gonna be a fucking reggae band". I was like "Fuck yes" and moved up. Then they came on and rocked it and there C.D.s they had sold out.

18 people are deaf or summin!!!!!!
That bass needs to be tuned.
the bass is out of tune or am i really high?
Ska's normally more fast paced and usually dosen't have the organ as much as Reggae tends to. Just like Reggae dosent have as much horns as Ska does, but the basic idea is the same.
its a little sharp
i think they would sound better without brass.....but thats just my opinion =)
if it's good music, it's fine by me. obviously all of us here like a good ska and reggae beat. i don't get why people gotta be all up-tight?
Yo Gabba Gabba...
yeah he was probly real high hahaha

Заебцом жгут!
are you serious? people are gettin bent over this?
Good band, would be better with brass
are you serious?
you realise ska was the precursor to reggae? it's disgusting how misinformed some of you are. reggae wasn't even around in the 50s.
eek...is the bass out of tune or is that just me?
either way they kick ass!
indeed bass is fat and groovy but out of tune as hell. great song anyway. love the aggrolites
tune your bass dude lol
now that i am sober. i really can tell it's way out of tune.
hate to break it to yah,
but ska came from reggae
1st wave ska is pretty much reggae
Nice song!!! The bass is out of tune...

More like outa tune. Good jam tho
Lead singer has a good vioce and a solid stage presence, but the music is pretty lame IMO.
