My cat Rizzo did the same thing. In 2019, I had just lost my bonded pair within a month if each other and was distraught. In her desire to cheer me up, we took a trip to our local SPCA to look at some cats. Initially, I went to see a big orange tabby who was elderly and declawed but he was being held in a different area and I never found him. Instead, I had picked three other female cats to look at (as per the rules). The first one was totally uninterested in me and cared more about the cat tower in the room, the second one was incredbly thin and frail looking. She was terrified of us and hid in the corner, avoiding eye contact. There was one last cat that we had considered looking at until my mom started noticing a hilarious black cat who kept getting on her hind legs and sliding off of the enclosure door in an arcing motion. I used the string from my sweatpants to play with her and decided to meet her. The first thing she did was rub up on our legs to greet us then jumped to the top of the cat tower to look at us. I knew she was my cat and I adopted her immediately. She is amazing and I love her. I'm so glad I adopted her before anyone else could realize how adorable she is.
That's how my cat chose me. She wouldn't stop meowing at me, i took her home with me, we stayed together for almost 23 years, and on Easter day this year she left me all alone. I have been so blessed.

Having lived with cats my entire life (37 years), and I can tell you that each cat has their own distinct meow, basically just like humans have their own tone of voice.
I have one cat that has a distinct letter ''n" in their meow, onomatopoeia would be something like "nrow." The other one literally sounds like a baby "uwehhhh" lmao
Amazingly, each cat has a different personality. I have reared up 3 cats and lived with many more over the years. How much each of their personalities differ is just amazing.

Obviously missing her brother. Then 2 days after, she started meowing and sounding exactly like her brother up until the day she died of old age ❤

Omg yes I’ve told people so many times if we didn’t have our own unique traits and looks and whatever else it would be such a boring world. I love that some people have a mole or a different shape face or original teeth gaps freckles all that stuff makes everyone unique and that’s what beauty really is we’re just sold this superficial beauty. Yeah they look good, but so does everyone else. I love that everyone has their on quirks and stuff.
