This knife was my first knife when I was 8, I purchased it at the px on base in Puerto Rico. I’m 72 years old now. Amazed that it’s still made.
Not in the same quality form yours was, but it's nice to see them bringing back these classics. Thanks, Brian.
Nice little pocket knife always prefer two bladed knives to open one from each end, the Winterbottom bone very attractive too. 😁😁 You gave it two thumbs up I give it two smiley faces.
Smiles all around, excellent. Great value piece.
Thought i was looking at an antique knife when i first saw it. Absolutely love it. The bone jigging is fabulous. None offensive and one you would expect your grandfather to carry.
That's cool. If it fooled you into thinking that it's probably the kinda I would enjoy. Thanks, Paul.
That looks like a great little knife. My Son got me my first Queen for Christmas. It's a sawcut bone canoe. I really like it. It is well made like the one you showed here.
Yes, both this series and the sawcut are terrific. They're really making some nice stuff and these are 440C to boot.
I got the Queen Barlow and was pleased with it, that whole line looks good! I think the canoe is next (for me). Thanks for the look!
I may look at the canoe as well, but the budget is tight. Thanks, Tim.
@@ThriftyKaniffy I hear you man, my budget is so tight right now it Squeaks! (maybe next month)
The grooves on the scales give it a nice handmade look, thanks for showing it!
Glad you enjoyed it, Jose. The Winterbottom bone have a very classic look.
I like Queen. The few I have are very nice, well made. I'm liking this series a lot. That one looks really good. That one is on my radar. The canoe looks good as well. Very nice.👍
Yes, this series is pretty remarkable for the price. May look to get more of them.
Great old man's knife TK thumbs up.
This old man likes it. Indeed. 👍
Good looking knife. Thanks for the review.
Thanks for having a look, Jesse. 👍 This is a great value.
It's a handsome piece! I'd carry that one any day, buddy. Cheers!
This is a great series of knives. I like what SMKW is doing with Queen. The sawcut bone and now this. Thanks, David.
Thanks for the review, John. The Winterbottom bone has really caught my fancy! It's a great jigging.
A wonderful series of knives and pretty incredible what you get for the cost. Thanks, Tom.
I never had this pattern before. When I got it, I liked so much that I had to order a second in case it sells out.
It's rather like a pen knife, but cooler. Thanks for watching, Joss.
They did a great job with these. Soon you may see similar knives in the Rough Ryder line up. Did you see the news about Queen and Queen City? Tyler Pipes of SMKW announced that they have found a company to produce the Queen line back to the USA. Not sure who they found but it is exciting news none the less! Yep, A half whittler but any other name is a penknife! I like it, especially as it lacks a useless swedge!
I wonder if it'll be Bear and Son. Thanks for the info, TG.
I like that quite a bit….. I may have to look into that one thanks for showing it……. 😊
Yessir, don't miss this series it's been really good.
I recently handled one of these , real value for the money ($ 15.00 +/-) .
A nice little E.D.C. , I agree completely 👍👍 two thumbs up .
Great review . Continued success in the new year .
Thanks very much Michael. This one is great bang for the buck.
I just received this modei. I'm going too enjoy carrying this knife !
Have at it. It's a nice piece of cutlery. Enjoy!
That’s a good looking knife . I own one half whittler by Case purchased many years ago .
Great value here for 15 or less. The bone is nicely done, great snap on the main blade.
Well that's pretty awesome looking. Good pick. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Frog. It makes for a nice little pocket tote.
Nice looking knife! I like that pattern! I carry a smaller knife every day!!
That's my wintertime routine. Something with a pocket clip on one side. A knife in a slip in the other and then my small 5th pocket hidden away.
It is a very nice looking knife TK! Thank you for the video! I would buy it!
Queen is doing some good stuff, Like I said, there may be more in this series that I end up gettting. Thank you, KJ.
@@ThriftyKaniffy 👍👍🎯🎯
Great looking covers - and wow 12bux - stellar value- seemed to have a nice halfstop n pull, great vid amigo
Hard to top at this price. The fit and build are more than you'd expect.
The bone is nice, the steel is all right, for the money it's a great knife. Thank you John.
It's a great value IMO. Nice handles, 440C.
The law of averages say that I will get disappointed with one of my purchases but of the four Queen knives I have bought there are no complaints so far. I am going to add this to my cart next time around.
Well it can and will happen so just keep plugging along and deal with it when it does. Nice value knife so not much is at risk.
Nice looking knife.
Yes, I very much agree. Good to see you in the live Sunday.
@@ThriftyKaniffy Sundays are family days, so I can’t stay there long, but it’s nice to stop by.
Nice little pocket dropper. I prefer this pattern to the peanut pattern. A little longer handle which just barely enables a 4 finger grip for my hand size. Whereas a peanut is a 3 finger grip. Also, this pattern is slimmer than the peanut. In my opinion, it is a better design. I like them
Makes sense if you like the larger handle size. Thanks for the feedback, Larry.
@@ThriftyKaniffy You’re welcome sir. Enjoyed the review. God bless. ✝️😀✌🏼
I like the winterbottom series also, ive got the slimline trapper and barlow. ill have to look into this one It like it appears that it's fairly slim. Do you think Rough Ryder ,Queen, Marbles are all made in the same Manufacturing facility? Thanks TK
You know, I'm not really sure. Seems like Marbles and RR have more in common, but not always. Might be a question for SMKW.
Nice pinch opener and a lower tang heel. Nice edc.
Definitely a great value knife. The Barlow as well.
@@ThriftyKaniffy yup $12.39 plus tax and shipping. Chicago kw.
Nice looking knife. It would seem to function like a canoe with a clip point main blade. Thanks for sharing.
Good firm pull on the clip point. Not many of my canoes are as good in this way. Thanks, Ryan.
I think the reason Case called the half whittler a half whittler is because it was built on their humpback frame that was a frame used for their whittler.
Likely scenario, seems like we are always having to qualify the naming. This one gets an asterisk next to it, IMO.
Ah, a half whit! I have a couple of those, nice lil pattern. I assume this pattern name is an old-guy joke - I believe it predates Case but am not sure. I don’t have any Queens yet, should probably pick one up. *Okay, I went to allaboutpocketknives, and consensus seems to be that half whittler is a marketing term from Case for a pen knife. (Whittlers are more popular with collectors.) Sometimes it might mean the main blade is beefier than the small pen blade, but that’s it. So the old guy that made the half-wit joke worked at Case. Lol.
Yes, the pattern doesn't have the long lineage of many patterns so take it for a pen knife if you so choose.
@@ThriftyKaniffy I guess m an old guy at heart - I think half whit is funny so I’ll stick with that.
Love that bone but cant find one here :(
UK Tim? May take a bit of time as these are fairly new.
Wow how you going to beat that for 12 lousy bucks!!!! Man that’s a good deal to me!!!!
I think so too. The answer is you're not. Thanks , Pete.
Looks like a pen knife to me but what do I know.
You're not wrong. Thanks, Stuart.
Is that Cancer warning for California? (( IF)) that cancer lie were actually true, I'd sell sell everything I own, including my soul, provided I got enough money to buy every single sleepwalking, empty-headed, knuckle-dragging fool ( in other words all the citizens of that state), a whole create of those knives. I'd buy one for me too, because it's looks pretty cool. I like it.
I like it too. It's an interesting pattern. Thanks, Richard.
@@ThriftyKaniffy CKW’s need to learn to edit their pictures better. Their picture of this knife / series of knives looks dark and boring. It shows NONE of the detail I see in your video. I’d never have even noticed that knife otherwise. I only sought it out, because of your video. It looks great in your video. Maybe you just got a good one.
