I'm not considering to buy a new Soup Maker at the moment, but whatched the episode and gave it a TU for the fact alone you upload this kind of usefull content.
You bring it in a very nice classic British manner; it's not spoken too fast, so non-native English viewers can also follow along quite easily.

Do not purchase any soupmaker unless it has a non stick bottom as ingredients will catch on the bottom and the machine will then cut out. The compact Morphy Richards machine is an example. I own one and have yet to successfully complete any of the soup recipes. It has cut out every time and the programme is lost. I also own the 1.6 litre non stick Morphy Richards example and I have had no issues with it across all soup recipes.

I, at first bought the Morphy Richards Clarity £100, kept cutting out, tried two more of the same make, the cheapest being £40 in picture above, every flippin one cuts out.
Spoke to the company who were very helpful and tried just water at their suggestion, (in case food was sticking at the bottom) once again, overheats and cuts out.
I am buying an Aldi Ambiano one as this is clearly a faulty thermostat problem with all of the Morphy Richards ones.

Same experience with Morphy Richards soup maker 5 years ago! Clearly it’s got an uncorrected design flaw…

How about using an Instant Pot for soup? It has a keep warm function. I made pea soup in mine and it was excellent and in a quarter of the time if have to cook it on the stove top. I prefer chunky soups like meatball stew or beef barley, but some are good smooth too.

I have a Morphy Richards soup maker, the clear base one, paid AUD$155. It's a great idea but the veggies keep sticking to the base, start to burn so the soup maker shuts off.....I'm taking it back, too much money and frustration for something that doesn't work most of the time!

I've just had this very soup maker for Christmas. On the whole, I'm delighted with it.
I do find it cuts out from getting it overheated far too easily. I would rather the thermostat maintained the heat rather than turning the whole thing off. I also find the bit of the cable that plugs into the soup maker can be insecure and come away too easily.
This is a real nuisance if you're part way through a program. You have to restart the whole thing again, then of course, it gets too hot and cuts out. Then of course you have to wait ages to start again. Much longer than the 30 mins suggested. This aspect is driving me nuts.
