One can easily see from these 'examples' why John Singer Sargeant praised Mancini as a portrait artist: he went to great pains to 'catch' the character of his sitters and his work is not (unlike his contemporaries) following in the Victorian tradition of over-sentimentalizing his subjects. The video would be enhanced (as another commentator said) with appropiate background music of that era. Many thanks for the "upload"!
