Please learn from my mistake. I have been servicing my 17KW Generac since 2013 and never had a problem until I got lazy this year and used a drill to break loose my valve cover bolts. I should have taken the extra time and used a ratchet like I had always done before. The initial torque from the drill broke off a corner of the head that holds one of the valve cover bolts. To replace the head would cost $500-$600. I used JB Weld and am hoping that holds. If I knew how to attach a pic, I would.
I always, and there’s no written law, but I always run it around a few times after adjustment and recheck. Those type valves for some reason can move or settle in after an adjustment amd the clearance change. They’re aggravating to be sure but essential. Living in FL we need a genny ready all summer.

Yes, Generacs are pieces of shit. Just replaced a 10kW engine the things fucked from the get-go.
