This series manage to portray blatant speciesism and propaganda so well that i cannot help but to have my blood boil a little. Very good written, and great voice acting too!

The Federation definitely needs to be rebuilt from the ground up. That said there's something weird going on with how stuck certain members are on their anti predator thoughts. I wonder if there's a power behind the throne kind of organisation here stirring up anti predator feeling.
At least IRL, cultural hatred doesn't typically need to be induced from the top down. Obviously organizations and individuals _can_ inflame tensions, perpetuate stereotypes, and stoke violence, but until a confrontation with reality is forced, hateful ideas tend to stick in a population on their own. I would be a little surprised if there was a secret cabal of puppetmasters dedicated to conning the federation into hating predators for two reasons. The first is that I can't imagine what they would have to gain from their efforts. If there are only two predator sentients in the universe, one of them is already hostile, and the other has no military or political power, then there aren't any potential disasters to avoid or rewards to acquire through secrecy and deception. The other reason is that predator anxiety and hatred appear to be ubiquitous and innate to the federation races. As soon as they see the eyes and the teeth, their flight instincts are triggered as a reflex beyond their control. It stands to reason that, given their evolutionary source, every individual of those species should arrive at that attitude toward predators on their own without the need for anyone to convince them. There would be no point in adding a conspiracy. That's like having some secret organization dedicated to convincing us that candy tastes good and we should breathe oxygen. It would be silly.
@davidhand9721 in real life people are racist/bigoted etc yes. However it doesn't expand to the level seen in the federation races normally unless there is a group of influential people fanning it for their own means - for example, Brexit was ultimately a xenophobic reaction to situations in Britain, but a lot of that hatred was redirected anger over years from failures at home being pinned to the EU/the foreign migrant etc. It was like most bigotry utilised by wealthy and powerful individuals to secure their own ends, even when that was not good for the nation/people as a whole. The point being that yes bigotry etc exists in general, but this level of irrationality, even accepting the inbuilt fear response, is extreme and feels wrong. It is also noticeable that it is the "lesser races" of the Federation - the newly uplifted or the ones seen as weak such as the Venlil- who seem the most able to accept humans. There's also something weird going on with the alteration to the historical record. Lots of breadcrumbs story wise it feels.

I tried to acknowledge cases like Brexit and post-2016 (post-2001, really) America where animosity has been intentionally stoked and redirected by parties empowered by the status quo, but maybe I didn't get it across. I just don't see who stands to lose power in a galaxy where very rare predators are merely feared and not treated as monsters.

I can't think of Sovlin as a hero until he stops smiling while Arxur burn alive. The nazi lizards should generally be put down, but you can't be a good person who enjoys watching someone die in agony like that.

Yeah you could throw the humans at the Arxur but there's not gonna be "remnants" to mop up. India and China alone could repopulate a military several million times over. Also some humans die but we're uniquely good at learning from other's mistakes on the fly.
