There was a time when this used to be my daily breakfast and sometimes breakfast+lunch. That time (2017-2018) we used to get 3 parathas with rupees 10.
I have tasted this when I was in Kolkata and this tastes amazing! 😀

I have seen few vidoes of kolkatta street food. I must tell how I wish I could have visited these places to taste delicious simple foods. People are blessed to have such eateries which are not only pocket friendly but tastes homely. God bless

3) Hygiene conditions with regard to water & preparation.
We will get roughly the same quality excluding 1&2 in B & C class restaurants.
Park street is for those have the money for eating at A class restaurants like Trincas, magnolia etc Or even Amber.

Cheap?yes.... healthy and hygiene? absolutely no!!.... But at the end of the day mejority of street food are not healthy or hygiene by any means but once in a while you can have it.... Home made meal are the best, quality, quantity, healthy and hygiene

Being in Mumbai we definetly feel these sort of cost effective food should be there as well .
Yes. You are correct . It use to be cheap in mumbai in 80's and 90's when I was child '. compare to the inflation But now Mumbai has only become looting machine, as vendor know the rich do not care for 50 , 100. And secondly who is hungry has to compromise. So the best thing you do is eat it at home or buy some fruits . Or go to any local khanawal .Mumbai has become a loot center. This is mainly happening after the increase in Mumbai's population.
Dude, you also earn more in Mumbai. Most of the working class in Kolkata don't earn more than 20-25K per month, and good luck if you're in IT, they pay a measly 23K. People survive only because of the cheap public transport and food available there. Kolkata is rustic in more ways than you think.
