I used to have a copy of this game on VHS. Love Dick Enberg’s intro. As it turned out, Kordell Stewart didn’t actually have much of a future to chase. But John Elway did get to write the final verse.
Thanks for posting this! Crazy how many times these 2 have played in the post season. Often, the results have been upsets, too. 77' Denver upset Pitt, but Steelers came back and whooped em in 78. They also knocked off a 13 - 3 Denver in 84, but couldn't pull it off in 89. Then Denver won this one on the road, but Pittsburgh returned the favour in 05'. But the last time they hooked up- the Tebow game- might've been the most surprising.
1:33:00 - Talking about when NBC was about to lose NFL rights (of course they did not know it yet but talking about TV contracts is what would result in next few days to their dismay and grief) when CBS came in with huge bid NBC could not match. Of course they did not say it directly but that was it talking about what was unfolding and NBC was a loser in the process the following Thursday. And the good old days of NFL on NCB went by by as such. They were great and miss them to this day.
@Winston Churchill's Ghost stop it Steelers kick the ass broncos in 2005 championship far as the Superbowl goes the ref owe us anyway cause they to Rob us in division round against the colts so that makes us even far as afc championship game 05 stop with your bullshit
The classic NFL on NBC intro music gave me chills…though this was another painful loss for my team, the fond nostalgia makes it bittersweet.

Where have these amazing big game intro's gone? I miss the 90's.
The NBA was the same way and I miss both!
When the running game was important to winning
Good ol days of the NFL ON NBC
Ahh the era of when the defense wasn’t flagged for playing defense.
This was the last AFC title game not to air on CBS, and the last one at Three Rivers
Thanks for posting this!

Golden era of NFL on NBC 1995-97
This was the 1997 AFC Championship Game Played in January 1998.
Don't care what the stats are Terrel Davis was one the best Running backs to ever play.
Part 3 Of The Broncos Revenge Tour...Afc title vs Pittsburgh...great game between both teams...these would meet again many years later in 2006...
Again in 2015
@@mykematthews9587 yes indeed...that too also...
Just the intro got me in tears 😢 ready to rewrite history in my life.
To my crew S.F.I. LETS GIVE IT ONE MORE RUN!
Were Destin to win 🏆
😯 Man Levon Kirkland was a huge man..
John Elway and Terrell Davis are the best! Go Broncos!!
Elway's the GOAT
2020 Ravens vs Steelers noon game on NBC

Will McDonough and John dockery like them or not was the best reporters when the nbc had on nfl at that time
@@goldeneve Yes they were. Some of the best reporters.
If ya'll don't rate this as one of the greatest games something wrong with you.
Later in 2005 they got revenge and won the super bowl
They sure did
This was a great AFC Championship game I would put this in the top 10.
Last playoff game at three rivers stadium
I was about to say no but I realize yea it’s was three rivers final playoff game cause after that….01 05 08 and 10 in Heinz field
17:57, 25:31, 48:18, 58:53, All classic, and the great Dick Enberg on the call.
i miss football being football we can never go back now that its been pussified and schemed they way it has now. nfl is done
1:33:46 really damm in a alternate universe lol
Another AFC Championship hosted at home the Steelers blew.Thats all they did during Cowher era.
Elway 37 Phil Simms 42 Brady at 45 looks younger then both.
i think stewart may have been able to be good but it didnt work out that way
If the Steelers had a better Quarterback than Kordell Stewart, it's a victory. I completely forgot how horrible he was in the postseason.
if the Steelers had any QB that didn't choke during the big games, the 90s would have seen some championships for pittsburgh
@Winston Churchill's Ghost stop it Steelers kick the ass broncos in 2005 championship far as the Superbowl goes the ref owe us anyway cause they to Rob us in division round against the colts so that makes us even far as afc championship game 05 stop with your bullshit
The 3 Ints did not help but the Johnson missed FG was just as painful
@Winston Churchill's Ghost just facts don't know what game you were watching
@Winston Churchill's Ghost you're full of shit.
Kordell Stewart could of been a good CFL QB ?
Before this generation of people got into their egotistical feelings.
No scorebug, no wonder NBC lost the rights.
Thankfully in 06 they got and embrace the scorebug
What a stupid halftime show why spend time talking about game from 1972 ???
Ya sure you what cornhole Stewart setting up behind you all game ?
Best opening I've seen in a while even though Pitt lost
