Exploring Lio Beach | WE NEED ANSWERS | El Nido 🇵🇭
Welcome to Lio Beach El Nido, the epitome of tropical paradise! Located in the breathtaking province of Palawan in the Philippines, Lio Beach El Nido is a hidden gem that offers an unforgettable beach getaway.
Apart from being charged £5 for 8 manky chips, this was a great experience. A huge beach with hardly anyone around during the day. It does get a fair bit busier in the evening because the sunset at Lio Beach is one of the best.
Lio Beach is also a gateway to some of the most mesmerizing natural wonders in the world. Embark on a boat tour to the world-famous Bacuit Archipelago, where you'll discover iconic landmarks like the Big and Small Lagoons, Secret Beach, and Shimizu Island. Explore hidden caves, swim in emerald-green lagoons, and witness the beauty of towering limestone cliffs rising dramatically from the sea.
We are Eleise and Lawrence & Nyh - A young family from the south of England. Like many people the pandemic gave us a shake up! While watching hours of Mark Weins in Thailand - We had our “Ah ha” Moment. We decided we wanted to travel.

Simple answer 😊YOLO😊😊😊why be sad if you have problems already? Let the problem be? It will go away😅so we smile less muscle in the face is used😂not like when you from or get angry 😂we put tissue so no dust or sand gets in
Remarkable video @ the beach in the Philippines today’s with your lovely baby boy with many tourists in El Nido, The Philippines May of 2023❤❤❤❤
Let the problem solve it's own problem
1. We are what we are because of the people around us.. everyone here is like this so everyone adapts this same attitude since child.. Typical Filipino parents will teach this as well to their kids on how we should live happy and kind to everyone.. I thought this is just normal for all people anywhere until I started travelling outside the country and realized not all people in the world are as happy and friendly as we Filipinos..
2. Blackout or Power Outage is the right English term.. Brownout is the common English term of Filipinos for Blackout.. it's the same meaning.. but not all Filipinos would know or use the term Blackout..
3. We are into sweets so our teeth are not perfect. But almost 20yrs ago, having braces became trending here and had been a symbol for beauty and rich status in life. It was so costly that only those who have money can afford it. Since then, having brace became a usual gift that teenagers asks from parents. So I guess, most of the people here have better teeth starting from teenage years cause of the braces.
4. I have never worked in a bar or restaurant but I guess the tissue in the bottle is just protection from dirt.. idk really 😅
Filipinos are known for their hospitality.. so. sorry about the “chips”, it’s not a common food there. It’s actually quite expensive to get potatoes that big. It’s not a primary crop for the filipinos, especially islands surrounded by water, crops don’t grow and they need to import those somewhere else- hence more expensive..
We put tissue/napkin on an opened bottle for the drinker to wipe away those rust that’s from the metal cap. And most of us would just ask for a glass with ice in it and pour the drink over. Happiness is a state of mind, and maybe because of the sunshine and heat, I guess.
You are so right! It's a state of mind 😍 🖤
If it were your first time in the Philippines, don’t be surprised if a complete stranger smiles at you. That’s the treasure of the Filipinos their being happy and friendly.
Brownout is a partial,or temporary reduction of power and blackout is a complete interruption of power...
Thank you again ☺️ 🖤
@@parttimetravellingfamily I thought brownout is for the morning and blackout is for the evening.
@@chessmaster9842and why they're being brown?
@louislanuza1419 Brown is not too dark compared to black.
For me it means that brownout is having power failure partially in a certain area, and blackout is having power failure in the whole area .
New subscriber herre..
Yes , filipinos always smile whatever it takes, whether were in bad ir good situation, whatever burden we are having were still manage to smile.
And we love that about the Filipino people... It's lovely to be around. Thank you for watching ☺️ 🖤
Thank you for coming and see our country, Philippines. We love you and welcome to be back every time you feel like coming.
Smiling is so easy and natural to Filipinos because they are very friendly. They talk and answer questions with a smile.
As you probably know, because I am not Filipino, I can't any of the questions except to say, they do all seem very happy, they can ALL sing, and most do have beautiful teeth. No idea about the beer thing! Anyway, as usual, keep on posting wonderful videos, love you guys, cheers ❤💕🤗
Wow! Lio Beach must be another of your favorite one. Awesome vlog.👍🏼❤️
Awesome Lads ...
We Filipinos are not miserable people. Thank you for visiting the Philippines.❤
Enjoy your family also
Brownout is a shortly power supply interruption while blackout is a longtime power supply interruption that we call us brownout and blackout 😊🥰new subscribers here🥰

In the old days, when the power goes out, we called it a blackout. In the '70s, if I remember correctly, when there was an energy crisis, power interruptions started to be scheduled; these were called brownouts and the word stuck replacing the word blackout altogether :)
It's our nature to smile even we have problems...life here is not easy...but if you notice...we are a heavily heat by typhoon but in the report pictures in the broadsheet...we. Still smile
Amazing! 😍 🖤
@@parttimetravellingfamilyThanks.
During natural disasters, Filipinos remain patient. The victims don’t resort to looting or ransacking of warehouses. They just go to the government centers for the relief goods.
We are aware that in other countries, mobs burn or rob the warehouses, stores…. It’s shocking.
wowm i loved your vlogs i am new subscriber,, good job keep it up!

1:Yes Filipinos are happy people by nature. Most have close family ties and likes reunions and gatherings family bondings this give the feeling of security, lbeing loved and to love that gives us happy positive vibes.
2:Brown out Blackout i guess is the same.
3:Nice teeth are because locals are very hygenic brushes teeth often. One more reason is we have many dentist in the country.
❤Enjoy the stay and try to take baby Nys to The Dessert Musuem in Manila or Mind Museum in BGC.Time for the baby to enjoy a place for kids next time.Cheers guys🥳
Ps:The napkin is like a cover to avoid dirt or insects to get in.A way of caring for customers as well.❤
Amazing! Thank you so much for your help 🖤
Brownout is partial electric power interruptions but blackout is annoying, sometimes it takes 3 days to one week especially after destructive typhoons that caused power supply damages.
@@hu6860 Oh ok now i understand.I havent experinece a total blackout situation here in Quezon City.We seldom have brownouts though but just quick power fluctuation. Thanks👍🏻
@@clinicalepidemiology1305I think brownouts and blackouts are rare in big cities esp in the capital region.
I think the last time we had blackout was in 2009 during typhoon Ondoy in Metro Manila.
You guys should do a collaboration with THE JUICY VLOG ( they live and owns a condo in BGC ) and EIGHT MILES FROM HOME ( they live in Siargao now and are building there house there ). They are both British vlogging families who litterary made the Philippines there 2nd home now. 😀

Filipino always smiles to foreigners
Filipinos smile a lot… it’s pure inner happiness.. not a mask to cover the sadness.
Sometimes, people also smile in natural disasters just to cheer up our fellows because it is really troublesome to see someone who is in despair.
The society is also tolerant in many things:
1. Children born out of wedlock are welcome openly and embraced as “blessings”.
2. Being a single mom or single dad is not a taboo here in PH.
3. Couples who are Living in before marriage is common in the country.
The above have an effect on our psyche… not so stiff, grateful to life even if some are not financially able.
Thank you lovely family. Your NYEH is smart and a happy little boy. What a joy to watch.
Good and lovely couple.... Please the philppinine weather forecast everyday before going out... Rainy season is coming now this early... And sad to say but it's ussual happen here in the Philippines TYPHOONS ARE COMING.... please take care
Thank you for the heads up Robelito 🖤 We appreciate you looking out for us!
they put tissue paper to cover for safety like small foreign objects like flies, bugs, small derts ,
Thank you so much 🖤
True
Also, to clean the rim of the bottle before you drink from it.
I perfectly agree.
Some of the bottle lids have stain from the caps. And yeah also to keep the bugs and insects from goin in after being served.
#2 brown out... power coming from the distributor going to consumer is cutoff (post fell down, wires been cut, natural disaster,, etc)....
while black out, the distrubutor itself cant produce enough electricity for their consumers. when you ration the limited electricity. you schedule a blackout. it usually is scheduled in the night around 12-4am so the term "blackout" came...
#4 sometimes the bottle caps has rust on them. if you want to drink without the straw, its better to wipe the lips of the bottle first.
We cannot say that we are generally happy but we strive to make each day count by being appreciative of the little things we have. ❤
Not only for covering but also to use for wiping the mouth of the bottle in case you are going to drink directly from it and also be sure to wipe it before pouring it to the beer mug.
Most and foremost pilipinos like you guys,, because you like and love our beautiful country Philippines.Saying something possitive comment greatly appreciated like other foreigners vlogger telling negative impression but for me reason why pilipinos like you so much genuine, good heart Thank you for choosing Philippines as your tourist destination..Stay safe More videos to come. More fun in the Philippines..
Gorgeous
Beautiful family! 👊🏼😎
Lovely couple:Welcome to El Nido, The Philippines this week @ the beach with your lovely son in great joy & peace May of 2023❤❤❤Remarkable video to watch in joy 2023❤❤❤
The tissue is used to wipe any stain from the bottle cap after opening, and also to protect the contents from any insects.
Awesome 👏
☺️🖤
Brown out is during the day. Has to do with the daylight, with the power off, it's not completely dark.
Black out is during the evening.
Tissue around the bottle is to prevent flies from landing on the mouth of the bottle. In a way to keep it sanitary since it's the part of the bottle that touches your lips.
Looking forward on our vacation to the Philippines, meanwhile living through a bit of happiness through your lens while at my desk working LOL, you are a beautiful family & wishing you guys the best!
Most filipinos are very friendly and have a good heart .
As explained previously we put tissue on bottle tops to prevent flies and sand dust from getting to the drink…
We are happy to see foreigners coming over to appreciate the beautiful beaches and natural resources for your enjoyment. Have fun
Tissue covering beverage bottles protect them from insects.
Medical/dental care is deficient in the Philippines. People in rural areas usually have strong teeth ( at least the older folks) because they did not have money to buy candy when they were kids. According to my grandmother, they would chew on sugarcane and other fruit which made their teeth strong.
Filipinos smile most of the time even in hard times because it is a reflection of our faith. Our Christian/religious orientation give us the inner strength and hope to face life's trials and to be have a positive outlook.
Welcome Eleise and Lawrence! We are glad to have you!!
Very Nice vlog sir ❤
there are a lot of flies around hence that tissue. Also for you to wipe the hole before you drink just in case there's rust from the tin or whatever.
Another reason why they put tissue is you can use it to rinse/wipe the lips of the bottle as sometimes the bottle cap leaves a lint of rust you dont want to be kissing the bottle with that dirt.
wonderful
Brownout covers a small area and for a short time while blackouts cover a large area for a long period of time.
We all love you too!!!!
☺️ 🖤🖤🖤
@parttimetravellingfamily pls 🙏 Enjoy Philippines despite the setback!!!
Nye nye's so cute
That's our nature always smiling and happy face despite of problems only Filipino can do that 😊❤ It's more fun in Philippines 🇵🇭😊 that's bottle of beer have tissue on it so that the flies or insect won't go inside and stay clean ❤
It is more fun in Philippines 😅. Thank you Teresa 🖤
@@parttimetravellingfamily your welcome ☺😘
The tissue is also use to clean the mouth of the beer cause sometimes the tin cap get rusted.
Hahaha we were literally sitting at this exact spot about 2 days ago!
You should go to the Dominican Republic! Beer served with a Napkin around the bottle neck and tip. Good smiling people all the time also.
Dominican is on the list ☺️🖤

To answer your questions
1. Yes Filipinos are generally happy people, this is a unique coping mechanism for us. To whatever life or nature throws at us, we just pick ourselves back smile laugh and move on.
2. They are both the same. Filipinos use the work brownout Westerners use blackout.
3. Asians generally have good set of teeth, this is not unique to Filipinos.
4. This is to prevent flies and other bugs.
I hope you are satisfied with these answers.
What month were you in El Nido? I really like your video👍
(1) Filipino's are generally happy people, it can be a good trait to brush off real feelings. The happiness that the foreigners are actually seeing is genuine. when they see visitors enjoying the country and experiencing the culture it makes them happy. It is a sign that you filipinos have a warm smile, hospitable and kind.
(2) they wrap tissue around your bottled drinks to wipe it off because of rusts residue from the bottlecap.
Congratulations to you guys lovely family to arrives @ this great beach in the Philippines in May of 2023❤❤❤I wish you guys safe journeys in peace 2023❤❤❤
ill answer the tissue on the bottle top after the cap has been removed. The tissue is used to wipe the lip of the bottle where dust and oftentimes rust (especially in small islands) from the cap settles. Also to protect the lip from flies that may enter your drink :)
SMILE Couples and Singing Beauty Son...
☺️ Thanks Pradeep 🖤
@@parttimetravellingfamily Cheers Dears.... Feel Happy and Recharged always seeing you always in my Big Ultrawide screen.. Relaxing and enjoying every location.. Relishing the moment...
Most restaurant and bars a like put tissue in a bottle of softdrinks or a beer for hygienic purposes..
Thank you
0:48 since they open the beers for you, they would put tissues on the mouth of the bottle for sanitary purposes (thats what I know, but i can be wrong)
brownout, blackout? maybe the color😁
She's so pretty.
Tissue on beer
First to cover the beer
2nd is. To wipe the tip of the beer
3rd is for holding the beer
Here in the Philippines foods ,beer or souvenir has higher price especially in resorts ,beaches ,hotel
More cheaper in a. Sari sari store ,7-11 or in faatfoods or in the market
You can have your food with you in beaches or resorts
Napkin - in an open beer so u can clean it/ wipe it off before u drink it sir
Thank you. It's a good idea 🖤
Tissue is for sanitary. To cover you drink from some dust or something. We like it nice and clean.
BTW every where one goes the local lingo changes and there are different connotations for words and phrases... therefore English is a very complex language because the language evolves and adopts words from all over... so the English Language is like an amazing multi coloured fruit salad with fruits from all over the world 😊
🖤
Good beaches, nice people, corrupt politicians and government officials.
Filipinos are resilient. Instead of sulking and moping, we chose to be happy. Positivity attracts good things. It doesnt make you less a man if you smile.
Napkin on the bottle top, to keep insects away from it
Because: 🇵🇭
Being unhappy is not a pleasant experience. Unhappiness is a negative emotion that can have a negative impact on our physical and mental health. 😊😊😊
Lio's one of the more expensive areas to stay and eat, hence the pricey chips. You'd be spending significantly less at one of the local places closer to El Nido town.
I couldn't believe it! 😅 Like being back in central London. 🖤
Filipino generally has a positive attitude towards everything in life I know it as a fact and as a Filipino
Hello Gorgeous Fam…what a lovely video! Nyh is so cute 🥰 Will u be coming back to the 🇵🇭?
Ahhh Amalia... ☺️ Thank you so much. We will be coming back for the rest of our lives. 😍 🖤
Filipinos are generally friendly. We harbor ill-thoughts toward no one in particular. We smile a lot because we know that people would smile back at us, as how we experienced it ever since. Blackout is total darkness as a result of power outage. Brownout is how majority of Filipinos would describe total darkness. We have set of good teeth because we love brushing our teeth right after each meal, whether at home, workplace, school, outdoor or indoor. We always make time for teeth brushing. Napkin, as how we Filipinos call it, tissue paper, is wrapped around beer or soda bottles to avoid spillage and flies settling on bottle lids.
Most Filipino are happy because we don't always dwell on our problems. We choose to smile and enjoy other people's company. Most Filipino practice gratitude and appreciate small or big things. Most importantly, we value and appreciate our family and friends and that's why when we have problems, we always have people to surround us with that can help us get through our problems. Yes! We are generally happy people but if we are unhappy and miserable inside, we don't take it on other people like what I mostly see and experience in the western country. We still smile and show kindness to others. Thank you for recognizing our kindness. I live in the States now and it still baffles me why people here are surprised if I show kindness when it should just be normal for everyone to be kind to each other. Regarding the napkin on the bottle, I think that just to keep the bottle ring from flies and dust so it's clean for you to drink. The dentist is cheap there and even if people can't afford a dentist most people don't eat too much sweets and always brush their teeth so which prevents them from going to the dentist. Mosy filipino are very particular about hygiene.
1. We love being happy
2. Some with dentist some domt have.
3. They put tissue on a bottle in order to avoid dust
⭐️
1. Yes. (Maybe, poverty brings a sense of contentment… that or we’re a bunch idiots).
2. Brownout is local (town, baranggay) whilst a blackout is a larger area (Metro, major island like Luzon).
3. Dunno. It’s not generally true- I suspect that folks in the provinces have less tooth decay because they don’t consume as much sugar. My theory.
3. Beer bottles have napkin for sanitary reasons, mostly from flies, people coughing or breathing into it.
👍🏼❔
Filipinos are also a bit particular about hygiene. Bathe and wash hands a lot, brush their teeth a lot, etc.
Though we’d occasionally eat with hands, we’re more sophisticated than our neighbors like maybe India. Only the tips of maybe 3-4 fingers touch the food and we always use a serving spoon for communal plates.
(You’re from India, try to observe. We tend to be “delikado” about hygiene.)
5 quid for chips and beer might be reasonable for beachfront (maybe on the pricey side).
It's true people from provinces they don't eat that much sweets/process sweetener, chocolates, chocolate drinks ,candies, ect.
Example my mother and father's teeth are completely perfectly fine. They don't ever been to the dentist, until today they still used the traditional brush the branch of the guava and used coal as tooth paste in it .😂
Amazing. Thank you so much ☺️ 🖤
@@MoonAboveStarsI agree. Filipinos love the cameras. It’s a shame to have dirty or broken teeth. You’ll be bullied hehehe.
1. We Filipinos smile a lot because we appreciate life. Living the day at present and not worry much of the future.
2. Both means there is no electricity or you may call power interruption. Black out is during night time as it will all be dark or black outside. Brown out is power interruption during day time.
3. Most have good teeth, well not all, but you only notice this because most filipinos smile a lot.
4. Tissue on bear bottle or any botled beverage is placed so that bottle top is covered to keep flies off.
Got my answer, both are African & British nationality, awesome !
the reason they put napkin in the bottle top is beca use of the fliess aroiund...
What is wrong with a smile? A smile convey's peace, that you are not a threat yeah. we are a happy lot because we have learned that the most important thing in life is life itself, as long as youre alive there is a chance that life could be better."Habang may buhay may pag-asa"

Hello new subscriber here. Im currently here in liverpool england......
And sometimes to wipe the cap stain from the glass
🖤
as explained to us in the 80s :) . . if i still remember it right . . let say in manila, if the whole manila has no power, that is black out,,, but if only part of manila, that is brown out (part of a certain area)
Black out is when the whole city or province lost the electricity, brown out is the specific small place in the community lost the electricity
The bread at 3:21 is called "kabayan."
Tissue or napkin on bottles is for sanitary purpose but they forget to mention, also for wiping the rust from the cap that stays on top of the bottle. #EnjoyPH
They ripped you off with those fries, but they usually hike up prices when you’re in a tourist spot. I’d be in a bad mood too, that’s the cost of a whole meal! Lol
We smile because we have good teeth. 😂🤭
Smiling or generally happy is attributed to the Filipino’s carefree attitude. Happiness is a choice and we always choose to smile even in the face of adversity…we believe that sadness won’t do us any good but as long as we’re surrounded by friends and family, we are going to be ok. (Also why there’s not a lot therapists there)
Brownout is a small area for a short period of time, blackout for wider area and longer than a day.
😅 no, not a lot of dental plans there. It has something to do with diet. We don’t have a lot of junk foods and processed sugar.
That napkin is for you to wipe the bottle opening before you put it on your lips. Sanitary purposes. Sometimes the bottle caps get rusty quickly and the handling/storage may not be as clean.
We have lots of quirks no? 😂 have you encountered a soda placed in a plastic bag yet?
Enjoy… and safe travels always.
If you think daily your problem dude , You become fast older and stressful ,Filipino's are totally different we got a good vibes happiness indeed, always stay in touch no matter what trials, challenges in life! It's on our blood for being a Filipino to be hospitable and kindness to everyone♥️😉 Bro it's not a napkin 😆😁🧻 Tissue paper at the top of beer drinking bottle ,to cover the drink and wipe out the stinky rust of cap bottle 🍾
For sanitary purposes...you get it off before you drink the beer
🖤
I got question in return. I noticed that you had a scar in your neck. Have you gone tracheostomy tube insertion?
Yes, Filipinos are genuinely a happy people. I don't know why. We just do...
Well it's amazing ☺️🖤
The Philippines is a tropical country and there are many fruit flies and insects flying around, so the napkins in the mouth of the beer bottles are to protect them flies and other insects.
That overpriced chips get me stressed. Justice!!!!
Wrapping a tissue on top of an opened bottled drink has been a practiced hygiene in order to protect the contents from getting contaminated as well as the outer part of the bottle. 😊
Filipino put tissue or napkin on the bottle to clean the the tip of the bottle since Philippines is tropical country and the lid of the bottle mostly having stains from metal lid and also to protect from flies to somehow land and may go in. .
I'm the 1000 liker😂❤
Ur so pretty.

Ahhh Thank mate. Appreciate the comment. 🍻 🖤
Who can’t be happy living in the worlds beautiful island?
Why Pinoy wrap the open bottles wt napkin?to protect from flies.
Ahhhh. Makes perfect sense ☺️🖤
black out means the entire philippines no supply of elctricity..brown out in the small area only.
Spending a whole month in the Philippines back in march, I can say the question about being everyone being happy is in fact a way of life in the Philippines. First they are content and apprieate their life in general. They have a deep sense of the importance of family and community, Their very patient people. They also are frugal and are not hell bent on material goods. Now that being said there is exceptions like deep in the city it's not always like that. I found that with my personality I could easily fit in with the people of the Philippines. I'm easy going, friendly and out going personality and I have respect for everyone. Everywhere I went I would smile and wave to strangers. And 99% of the time I received smiles and waves back.
