  • On Tuesday, September 20th, 2022, National Voter Registration Day, African Communities Together hosted an amazing panel on the upcoming U.S. midterm elections and voting and civic engagement in the African/Black Diaspora communities, and our voter registration efforts as ACT.
There are almost 2.4 million eligible voters in the African community nationwide. Voting is one mechanism to participate in democracy on both the local and federal level. If you are unable to vote due to status, there are still ways that you can support voters, such as volunteering to take people to the polls.
    Speakers:
Nneka Achapu, Civic Engagement Director, African Communities Together
Bert Bayou, DMV Chapter Director, African Communities Together
Diana Konaté, Policy Director, African Communities Together
    Daniel Koroma, Community Organizer
