Evil dead from 2013 was absolutely awesome. This evil dead rises looks awesome as well I love horror movies but most of them they make now a days are crap its rare you get really good ones like evil dead and evil dead rises as you can tell the other horror movie don't look great at all not worth money I'll wait till those are free to watch
But I think that Ash kind of is, Evil Dead, but looking forward to see Rises, the trailer... so so.... and ur right, not many new horror movies are worth watching....

For some reason which I don’t understand, horror movies are not horror anymore. They lost their touch , whenever i watch a horror I don’t feel anything, no jump scares / bad writings/stupid actors, i miss old horror movies were horror movies supposed to be scary or at least interesting to watch.

It's called being desensitized. This is part of life, you get used to things, and you no longer react the same way,.it's no longer exciting, new, whatever.
The same arguments are being used in all fields. People need to understand that they are different people than used to be many decades ago, and that changes their experiences. You will.never get that "feeling" back, because you are not the same person.

Evil that always scared me
I saw Scream 6 and M3GAN. I absolutely loved those movies. Easily my two favourite movies of 2023 already. I did not think I'd like M3GAN as much as I did as I don't like killer doll movies but that was an awesome movie. Can't wait for M3GAN 2.

Sometimes a horror movie will irk the hell out of me from the unrealness of certain situations. For instance in the first movie, a kid is going to scream his/her head off when their closet door violently opens and the boogeyman goes under their bed. No child is going to look to see what it looks like. I mean, come on! But I guess that ruins the suspense for the audience. This is why I like The Conjuring. The daughters acted realistically to the paranormal happenings in their house. And the father always came running. Makes me able to relate and connect to the characters because that is how I would react. And doesn't their house of lights? What is with all the dark & gloom and candles lit everywhere? so weird. But in conclusion, It looks scary AF and I'm gonna watch the hell out The Boogeyman.

In the Evil Dead Rise trailer the peephole shot looks awesome, I'd say even iconic, with her looking totally grotesque but her voice remaining so normal and bright,. Unfortunately, apart from that the rest feels just kind of bland and generic, so I don't expect much from it after all.
