I always associate the name Union Station with Washington, DC. I had once known but had forgotten until I was there recently that Los Angeles also has a Union Station. I suspect that a lot of places have Union Stations because of what the name implies - multiple lines coming together at some point in their history.
At the Ticket hall there is also a luggage roller table (which should be brought back with an XRay tunnel) for bulky luggage and to filter the dangerous items a practice adopted by Shenzhen Metro
T1 was introduced in 1995 I believe so at the time of filming they were 10 years old The Toronto rockets were not introduced until 2010, which to this day makes them around 14 years old
@@trainman1971 Thanks! How come it mattered? I know the current TR's do the 1 because they hold 10% more people, but I would assume the older cars H's and T1's had the same capacity? Must have to do with the subway yards.
@@finnmacdonald4439 With the H's, I really don't know, aside from that the respective H fleets remaining were fairly small, and in 2005, I think some H4's were also still roaming on Line 2, but at the time I did this video, I had not ridden that line yet.
Man, do I miss the variety of subway trains used on TTC back in the day!! Especially those Hawker door chimes!!!

At that time, Line 1 was T1 and H5.
Line 2 was T1 and H6
Line 4 was T1
