Chaffinches do build little works of art, along with the goldfinch also. I can always remember them in hawthorn hedges, some lichen, but mostly moss, and always blend in beautifully.👍
It was an absolute beauty!! Yes, watched one last season building up from scratch! Predominately moss with the with the lichen ‘plaster’ work. Marvellous nest!👍
Some nice finds again Geordie, I do like the Song Thrush nest. It's quite a neat one that, with its freshly laid blue coloured eggs with black specks. I just love the colour of them. The Chaffinch nest was also a lovely example. Keep them coming! ...😃👍🏻
