I've bought 3. I gave 1 to my son after I used it for a while. All 3 have been excellent. Perfect QC, all 3 were sighted in out of the box, perfectly straight. Action is excellent, with no visible wear on the internal parts on the one with the most rounds thru it (about 4k). They have perfectly timed the cam channel on the bolt carrier. They go into battery perfectly smooth unlike most AKs resulting in no wear on the bolt and trunnion. All 3 have been very accurate, my most accurate AKs and more or at least as accurate as most of my ARs.
FB Radom, WBP, and AC unity Mags work reliably for the 5.56/.223 Jack. The other mags you've used are converted 5.45 mags and they only look good but are unreliable. I think a 5.56/.223 AK is a great companion for current AR-15 owners who are looking to enter the AK world without having to spend extra money for ammo.
The problem.started with AC unity mag..I ran a full mag from a converted 5.45 mag after took out AC unity mag.....Idk man, taking it back out this weekend and we shall see what happens.......again
I don't understand the point of people swapping out 5.45 followers when there are plenty of 5.56 specific mags that are of great quality available now. This isn't 2005 anymore.
5.56 aks don't really make any sense for anything but a range toy. Heavier than an AR and less accurate. No point. 7.62x39 makes sense, wbp jack is light for an AK since it's pretty much an akm
I can't believe I'm saying this, but the new steel-lined polymer .223 mags from ProMag are surprisingly good and reliable. Quite a surprise for a company that otherwise makes utter shit quality mags.
One way to test if its the magazine, or if its happening when the magazine is inserted, is to chamber a round remove the mag and then see if it extracts. The issue is either a bad extractor or a messed up chamber, or maybe an improperly head spaced chamber. We had a ar that kept not wanting to extract we trouble shot it to the fact the chamber was so dirty it was causing the casing to get stuck, the operator had never used a chamber brush to clean it out.
The top round in the mag is blocking extraction. The AC Unity mag isn’t holding it at the correct angle. The round is slipping past the feed lips too soon and obstructing extraction.
I own a WBP Jack 5.56, and it's probably the most "out of the box" reliable 5.56 AK I've ever purchased. So far, I've put... maybe 800-ish? rounds through it (I don't actually keep count, just doing memory math right now). It had no break-in period, unlike my Zastava M90NP (and I blame Century Arms, not Zastava, for that) and SAM-5 (gas issues). Don't let the AK community's version of FUDDS tell you 5.56 is inappropriate in the AKM platform, it's just fine provided the manufacturer did their part and magazines are compatible. Also, your cleaning rod issue. It has threads but there's nowhere for it to thread into in this WBP AKs, so... it's prone to become loose with continued shooting. I keep mine in vest pocket or range bag but no longer ON the rifle itself. AC Unity 5.56 mags work in my rifle beautifully, so I stacked them, tested them all out, work great. It's shitty when people have problems with their 5.56 AKs, it just reinforces the prejudice from the "old guard" that AKMs can't possibly modernize into the 21st century or work in anything except historic, Soviet cartridges.
Thanks for info...I'm not giving up on it...Using diff ammo and diff magazines till I figure it out...Was told by someone it may be a gassing issue...so last resort is piston change out...Hoping it may just me an ammo issue at most...But thanks for comment and view..Much Appreciated 🙏
my sam5 runs like a dream with every mag ive ever tried... the gas issue had me paranoid so i got an adjustable gas piston just in case but based on the minimal wear I had i dont think that was an issue with my rifle personally. btw Ive used wbp, circle 10, and AC Unity or whatever its called. No malfunctions whatsoever so far after about 500 rds

@Midwest__Savage yeah, I feel you. Its not a big deal at all, honestly if it was me and i alread had the red or orange wood, i wouldn't bother swapping it. Would be interested to see the outcome of your 5.56 issues. Thanks for the video.

That’s what happens when you put western cartridge in AK 😂 just kidding. But seriously. The AK was designed for tapered cartridges like 5.45 and 7.62x39
My Ak eats every 556 or 223 all day from every mag Ive tried so far so idk what's wrong with his WBP. It would be a shame if that company threw away their incredible reputation.
I wouldn't say it was designed FOR those cartridges. There's nothing specific about the way the bolt feeds. The tapered cartridges lend themselves to less sticky extraction, and slightly improved feeding. 5.56, being straight walled, has more friction when entering and extracting from the chamber.
I love the pic on the WBP BOX of how they come into the Arms of AoA lol. These importers have alot of bullshit 922r they have to change just to sell to us Americans. Its expensive and unnecessary!
That's why I like the wbp rifles there imported like old mak90s but all the major parts like receiver and barrel etc is original polish were most companies rock a US made barrel and receiver there's a diffrence when it comes to imports 💯
Cool, but I can not see the usefulness of an AK tool in 5.56. It's inferior in accuracy and weight to an AR. 7.62, yes it generally needs a more beefy tool to run it, and generally, 7.62 ARs have a history of issues, so 7.62 makes sense. I got ARs for 5.56 and zpap and galil ace for 7.62 with black circle 10 mags.
not inferior in accuracy at all. look at what the milspec acceptance standards are. You cannot compare a bottom tier PSA AK to a decent AR. Compare any AR to an Arsenal, FB Radom or WBP using radom barrels and the AR is a very close 2nd.
