When I first watched The Untamed, I thought Yibo wasn't portraying Lan Wangji well because he was always scrunching his face while in the novel it describe Wangji as having neutral/expressionless face all the time. Then I realized, almost all the time Yibo (Lan Wangji) scrunching his face is whenever Xiao Zhan (Wei Ying) is *physically close* to Jiang Chen and Nie Huaisang or any other either of the Wen siblings. His face stays neutral (almost soft), during their younger (flashback) days, whenever it's just the two of them.
As soon as I realised they wouldn't spell out their love for eachother for us...I looked for every small action and reaction from them. What a good series

Wei Wuxian flirts the same way other people breathe, unthinking and without intent. Poor Lan Wangji who has never before done an unthinking or unintentional thing in his life has no clue how to deal with this. I love them. if only Lan Wangji knew that when Wei Wuxian is *trying* to flirt he uses the pigtail pulling method of being super annoying. I've just finished reading the 1st book ( paperback edition) and I'm waiting for the rest to be printed... it's a real addiction, when you've watched the untamed once, you're bound to watch it again and again 😂 Great actors, great music, great costumes...😍😍😍
Ok. We all gotta give the directors a VERY BIG thumbs up; for trying not to... and despite all the ridiculous censorship and whatever... they still managed to transfer Lan Wangji's pretty much canonnical jealousy and possessiveness of Wei Wuxian, f-ing right from the beginning.🙂
I just noticed that LWJ go-to move whenever WWX starts getting cheeky with people is outright ignoring him. That instantly works to shift WWX attention back to him. Smart.

When I first watched The Untamed, I thought Yibo wasn't portraying Lan Wangji well because he was always scrunching his face while in the novel it describe Wangji as having neutral/expressionless face all the time.
Then I realized, almost all the time Yibo (Lan Wangji) scrunching his face is whenever Xiao Zhan (Wei Ying) is *physically close* to Jiang Chen and Nie Huaisang or any other either of the Wen siblings.
His face stays neutral (almost soft), during their younger (flashback) days, whenever it's just the two of them.
another title: lan wangji walks away whenever wei wuxian talks to anyone but him.

Wei Wuxian flirts the same way other people breathe, unthinking and without intent. I just realised how early Lan Zhan knew and acknowledged his own feelings for WWX, I think from the beginning, after they met, very soon Lan Zhan already had feelings for WWX, hence always liked to stay with him alone and doesnt really care about other characters.
