Congrats on signing! I was a student at MI in 87-88 always loved your playing it’s beautiful. So glad I rediscovered you again! You’re an inspiration. God bless.
Can’t wait for the album release! Don’t know how you get that great, girth compressed tone, but your awesome taste and chops make everything sound deceptively great! I’ll have one of everything, please!
Thanks for showing this guitar Allen. Indeed rather a unique tone and nice clarity of chords with note separation. It looks stunning.! I might need to find one for myself... Cheers from New Zealand
I dig the open council sessions at MI. I visited there with my friend Bruce Forman and ended up playing with you for a good hour +. Good times. I remember you’d just got that 59 LP junior. Big tone. Those fender’s guitars are really great even if not much like typical fender guitars
Folks get worked up over nothing these days. I live in Alabama and wasn’t offended whatsoever. Hopefully you’ll continue producing great content like this more regularly than in the past, because I always learn something. Thanks 🙏
Thanks Allen. I appreciate your sensitivity to any misunderstandings you might have created in your comments, didn’t bother me at all, I appreciate your honesty and personality so keep on keeping on! Really dig these posts. I remember these guitars. They are beautiful. ✌️❤️
thanks. watching you play just solved a vibrato problem i have with bent notes. i saw you bend up to a note then release and slide up to the same note, then add vibrato. so smooth. i didn't hear the movement. thank you very much. i'll be stealing that.
Congrats on record deal, Allen! I think Esprit and Flame are different body shapes, Flame being a little smaller and asymmetric. Trim levels were Standard, Elite and Ultra. They all had alder body and only Ultra had spruce top (maple top on other two). They also had different binding, inlays and electronics (Standards don't have coil tap and TBX pots). I have Esprit Standard with SD JB and Jazz pickups installed, but have still original 1Meg pots. I actually like those pots, bright but can be tamed with tone pot without getting muddy. I think those guitar had almost flawless workmanship and they are really durable (for almost 40 year old guitar she is still in very good shape, both cosmetically and playing wise). Thank you for making these videos!
very excited for your new record... congrats!!! I was at GIT the year before you got there (upstairs from the wax museum) and Robbenwas there a ton then, too... you seem to have learned a bit more than me ;) but what an awesome experience (Joe Diorio, Scott Henderson, Frank Gambale, Steve Trovato.. so many great players!). Love your playing and the vibe of your videos. Hope you make it to the east coast!
What a great player! One of those guys who makes you want to either get better or quit! Watched many vids from him, and really love his content. Subscribed, and looking forward to more 😁.
Thanks a lot to everyone I’m glad everyone’s getting something out of these videos because it sure is fun for me and it’s been a lifetime journey and search for good toner
I had an '84 Fender D'Aquisto hollow body with Schaller p/u's from that same line.It was made in Japan by Fuji-Gen I believe. An amazing guitar! The yen vs dollar exchange rate really killed this guitar line around the mid 80's along with the other Japan models by Epi,Washburn,Electra, etc.
Sounds great - cool find for sure. Robben never seems to talk about this guitar, but i always thought some of his best tones were with these. (Not that i didn’t love the later ones ;-)
Really sweet sounding and great playing Allen! The Fender Esprit is a excellent made guitar for sure. 🎸The Redplate Blackline is just amazing too. Are you using Creamback G12M-65 or G12H-75’s 🔈🔈in your cab? 😊
Killer guitars. Developed in association with Jimmy D'Aquisto I believe. Startled that they never took off. I lusted after the whole series when they came out. I wonder if the archtops built under his supervision back then can still be had at a decent price...... Don't tell anyone I'm looking. 8^)
I tend to be a bottom feeder, but I would buy that guitar in a heartbeat at that price. I have the Squier version from 2006, MIK. Fender Japan did great work in the '80s, but this series was something of a whiff with the buying public. Sometimes the buyer is not right. The more recent Tele FMT series has a very similar vibe- set neck and HH, but with the iconic body and headstock. The Esprit was just too far off the beaten path for a Fender buyer in the mid '80s. There are lots of reviews on the Tele, but it could use another.
Thank you - such a nice way of teaching and awesome playing!!
I love the headstock shape on these.
Congratulations 🎊🍾🎉!!!!!!!👍👍👍👍
From Duluth Georgia, enjoying the videos, keep ‘em coming and congratulations on the signing.

Excellent find, gotta find me one. Thanks
Love these videos Allen. Well, and I'm a huge fan of your music of course. :) Would love to see you play live in Vancouver, BC some day.
Yes…great guitar. Congratulations for the upcoming release !!!! Great music, beautiful compositions.
That new song sounds so good. I must say I'm also very fond of the fun find that you found, fella.

Congrats on the signing! Looking forward to the next album.
Beautiful, and sounds really great ! Good catch !

No apologies needed, Allen. Love your channel 👍🏼
Thanks Allen, great episode. Love this series. Robben is of course a guitar hero, and so are you. The new CD sounds enchanting! Cheers, Thor

Awesome, Allen!
Nice video. Congrats on the record deal.
Thanks Alan, great insight. BTW, your videos have static in the left audio channel. Don't know if you already know that...

Nice one, I've been on a Robben kick lately so the timing of this was spot on! Also, congrats on the record deal!

You just drove the price up, Allen 🙂

Allen, never apologize. You are a good guy and if people are too sensitive, that is not your fault!
Everything named Esprit is pretty great (Lotus). I wonder if Robben ever plays his. Last time I saw him he was on his tele the whole night.
Never apologize for being funny. Let the big babies live with it. I thought it was great!
I just scored a 1987 Robben Ford (low serial number) in 9/10 condition for $1,600 on Reverb. It needed a set up, and a new mini toggle.
Awesome.

Wow, are you touring to support this release?
Eventually I just signed last week so we have to make a plan
What amp are you using killer tone and playing! You should do a series on amps too
Hey thanks. Yeah that’s the red plate “Blackline “and I will at one time.
@@allenhindsguitar thanks man red plates are awsome I have a Fuchs ODS and it's great the Dumble tone is killer
I bet every guitar in your hands sounds great...
I would like to know what you are playing through, effects and amp. Sounds great.
Hey john. Usually just the red plate Blackline amp. Little verb and delay. That’s all. I like this bob burt 2x12 with celestion cream backs

...gets harder and harder to get pawn shop finds as online visibility 'improves' ...sadly
Super nice guitar Allen. What rig are you playing through?
You may have answered this previously, but what amp are you usually playing through? Your tone is always amazing.

...we don't need to be 'offended' ...just sayin'
they NEED to re-issue this bueatiful girĺ
