It's not about specs, it's about tye software and code from the emulators, those need to be updated. Even PSP and raspberry pi struggles with n64, but runs psx or even psp games (raspberry) without trouble. Hopefully the emulators will be updated or even enhanced.
I'm actually impressed that they've got N64 working that well on those specs. How configurable are these emulators? Can you change video and audio plugins at all or add a little frameskip just to cancel out some choppiness? Other than the flaws with N64 emulation this thing seems to be the best on the market in this form factor.
I'm pretty sure my laptop from 2007 (still kicking) can run N64 emulation better, at higher resolution, and without audio issues. The RG350 needs better program, and more resources. 1GHz JZ4770 single core w/ 512MB RAM, versus 2.4GHz AMD TL-68 dual core w/ 4GB RAM and integrated nVidia GeForce Mobile. I think a PSP would handle the N64 games better, albeit with a lower screen res
If any of y'all have a higher end phone literally just purchase an emulator for the n64 & download the free rom off a website. You can play super Mario 64 no issue. Only bad thing is that touch screen controls aren't as comfortable as actual buttons.
You guys think N64 emulation will improve? what does 'alpha build' mean? does it mean the emulator itself is not on its final stage? is there any improvement yet?
My understanding is that these emulators were worked on back when some older chinese retro devices started picking up, things like A320 or RS97 but there was obvious lack of "raw power" to emulate N64 so it stayed dormant. Devices are becoming stronger, these emulators can now brute force some results but there is much optimization to be done. Now, I wouldn't know if this is being worked on right now but I have yet to see/read that it officially is. (Also keep in mind these emus are Open Source)
Commander was a great tip to transfer savesync onto the rg280v then i realised if i put it in the tf2 games card then if i had to reinstall the adam image again or whatever on the tf1 system card i didnt have to reinstall savesink as the rg280v will run opks from tf2 ext card

Well It worked for me I install Mario kart 64 from not64 emulator that I have and moved it over to m64+alpha thank to Wagner's tech talk video but the sound is bad but nice video thanks
I wouldn’t hold out hope on N64, that alpha build opk is years old and hasn’t been worked on for years due to hardware limitations on the GCW Zero. This machine has almost identical specs so it will be interesting to see if the new community actually works on this at all
I clicked the link you posted for getting the games and it just takes me to a list of computer gibberish. I have been trying to figure out how to add games to my son's device for two months now and I'm at a total loss. The games on it are crap and he can't play them -- I'd like to add some nintendo style games. I will even pay for them, I just can't figure out where to get them.
im having a bit of trouble getting the ROM N64 to show up after moving the file from the sdcard to the media/data/apps side on the right. the emulator shows up but no ROM to actually play the games. Any help or Tips? thx!
Agreed. The 350M gets me excited for a hardware revision with the inputs swapped (and sticks recessed!) on the plastic unit, but nothing announced yet. If they do they better keep the 320*240 screen though. The M's 640*480 is totally redundant and an unnecessary battery drain.
Madlittlepixel Hi mate, I've just bought a RG350. It came with a pre loaded SD card, all of the ROMS work fine apart from the MAME4all Emulator (the emulator works fine but no ROMS or ROM file). Do you happen to know where to copy the ROMS to in MAME4all?
Can you put this into SLEEP MODE (hibernate) while you are in the middle of a game, and then resume exactly where you left off by waking the system back up?

I don't have an sd card option under dingus when my sd card is formatted properly and in the second sd card slot. Does anyone have any ideas? I can't even get the stock emulators to direct to my path on the sd card because sd card does not appear in dingus. I'm lost and currently feel like I wasted $130 since I can't add games or emulators. If anyone has any suggestions, I would really appreciate it. thanks

Without some kind of hle, I'm afraid they won't go a lot further than that. Of course they can enhance the performance, but it will be to a limited extent.

I have a different problem. Out of the box PSX games where running mostly fine (besides GT2 wich had the same problem as i have now with every game). After booting up the game usually the intros work fine but then I see like scan lines or like the buffor is just showing every 2/4 lines don't know how to fix that... Anyone had the same problem?

The entirety of the N64 library probably won't ever work particularly well on this device, but certain games probably will eventually. Mario 64 has generally been one of the easier N64 games to get running on low end hardware, it's likely it will end up in a pretty good state if/when the N64 emulator for this device improves. But there are a lot of more demanding games that probably won't run well on this device even with major improvements. Conker, Banjo Tooie, Donkey Kong 64 etc are all very taxing on CPU power. The CPU in this device is very slow in comparison to the ones found in even most cheap smartphones these days.
Dang that's a dealbreaker. The machine is pretty much perfect otherwise! I was emulating silky smooth N64 games on my Xperia mini pro phone several years back, I would have hoped by now a system like this could easily handle it. Ah well!

I got one of these to have a portable pc engine/ turbografx/ turboduo and it does its job well enough for my tastes.
Well on the flip side it runs ps1 games to perfection 👍

@@Gloptarts N64 version of starfox 64 is superior, 3DS voice overs were awful in comparison. Also the music was more washed out in the 3DS version.

No surprise on Cruisin USA, that game isn’t even playable on an overclocked Pi4.
I've come to the conclusion that the best handheld emulation device on the market is the one I already had in my pocket that I make phone calls on.

rk2020 runs most n64 games like butter, I wonder if there would be a way to get the emulator they use on that onto the rg350

i used the sd card on my phone (huawei) for my rg350 (till now never plugged it into my pc) - it works perfectly. you need to unzip the files tho

Use a micro sdcard adapter. I got one and have been able to download roms on my tablet and then pop them into the sdcard.

It's due to the emulator not the dystem, I would be willing to bet this could be resolved with updates

No sadly if you want to emulate 3ds games you’d have to buy a more expensive handheld and only a handful of handhelds can emulate 3ds
