My Dads family all came from Alloa - Main surnames being Archibald ,Sharkey and Ferguson - more so Ferguson - Pretty sure i must have long lost distant relatives still in Alloa because over the generations they had big famlies
@@collachsyoutubechannel Very surprised to hear that. I've lived in Clackmannanshire my whole life and nobody I know would have anything nice to say about Alloa. Maybe in the past but definitely not now.
Ooh aah Alloa! A braw wee donder aboot the toon 😊 lovely day for it 😀 I'm always getting 'deposited' on walking up there 😄 🤣 The Sandwich Club isn't derelict as far as I know, had some chips there the other day!
It is weird sitting in Dnisi Coffee and watching a video of you walking past DNisi a year ago😅. Lots of change in Alloa. When I was wee it was the original ' dirty old town ' with mills, breweries and distilleries but we still had lots of small businesses and countryside, and could be independent of Stirling. Unemployment was very high though. Now it feels like so many of us are shut off in cars and housing schemes and our town has lost its community .The bank you passed closed before lockdown and the beautiful building is derelict.
Ex pat living in Florida here, I’d love an Aitkens the butcher (High St) square slice on a Baynes roll right now.

Another great video. I wish I'd gone with you now, as the weather was so nice. xx
There was a Maclays brewery where the Thistle Bar was. Alloa has more supermarkets than any other town in Scotland apparently
Thanks for the interesting feedback, Steven
this is my favourite youtube channel!! thank you for this video. my wife is from alloa so its interesting seeing where she grew up!!
So glad you enjoyed the video and thank you for the nice comments. Robert
If yer fae alloa, ye hate it, if yer no fae alloa, ye hate it even mare.
It is a shame you are not too keen on your home town. I have spoken to many Alloa short term and long term residents who love the town.

Thank you for your feedback, Tamson - Apologies to the Sandwich club if it is still an active service.
@@collachsyoutubechannel The Sandwich club is very popular with the school kids, they have some great lunchtime deals
