This is the one and only Jazz Butcher, unique, original and charming. An alternative to chart music at time in Mid 1980's doing their own thing. The essence of Indie music and creativity.
Wow this was (i think) the last single i bought Anyone got a video of Southern Mark Smith? Thanks for posting thecatkeaton takes me right back to the 80's when i bought Scandle in Bohemia from Pat at a gig Great times (so long ago SIGH)
@lukesoiseth Then you had a good time, congratulation!!! Such a thing happened to me when I saw the Primals live (in the Mani version, nb.)!!! That is, as far as it deals with the things that happened around me and the music. Cause the primals' music that night changed my view on what is possible in live concerts!!! I was so shaken I couldn't come back to a normal concert life. Gillespie was a breathtaking MC!!!
great clip, but perhaps what makes it even greater is the deer-in-headlights stares from the audience, none of whom seem to know how to dance or move to the beat.
Pat Fish: my dad's first cousin. Brilliant musician!
RIP
I knew Pat from Northampton pubs. He was very well known and respected in the area. Lovely guy and this is a great song.
Belated condolences to you & the Huntrods family. And never forget "Fish is biodegradable!" (even if it's a different song)
I have always loved this underrated band. They have deserved much better.
Rest in peace, Pat.
RIP Pat Fish 😢
RIP, Pat. xo

I miss you, Patrick.
Yo también
This is brilliant...long live Pat Fish and the Jazz Butcher
STILL one of the best albums I ever owned!
One of the best songs ever.
Fabulous. Also reminds me about German audiences in the 80s-watching and listening intently!
Played in a band with the drummer in the early 90s. Fun times.
Way cool to finally see some old Butcher footage!!!! Thanks a ton!!!
John Peel played Southern Mark Smith on his Radio Programme. That is how I discovered them.
Thanks sooo much for posting this clip. Me and my band The Zambonis have always loved The Jazz Butcher. GREAT STUFF !!!
Cheers Pat.
Great shades,great band!
Just brilliant.....
I remember the Tour. Saw them in Bremen in a cinema, all chairs, but a fantastic concert nonetheless
RIP Pat Fish
