    Hi Diana! Great video I'll be sure to use this. What is the yarn weight you are using?

    What's good ribbing that pulls in a lot?

      Ribbing needs to be a tighter tension than main bed work to pull in. You can try putting the slide lever on II for more tightness. This ribbing pulls in a lot if you rehang the stitches, putting each one on a main bed needle after the ribbing is done.

    If this is a 2x1 rib, doesn't this work the same way as if you just start with the ribbing as opposed with stockinette and ending with the rib? I personally much prefer 2x1 rib but for some reason it doesn't maintain its tightness and ends up loose after a wash or two

      It's different because I slipped those extra needles in between existing stitches. This is a wider ribbing than if you started with it, took it off on waste yarn and picked it up stitch by stitch onto needles. That would give you a tighter situation. BTW Industrial ribbing is quite a bit springier than regular ribbing because the stitches are closer together. It might help with your issue to try doing that.

      @@dianaknits Thank you very much, clearly this would mean starting a garment at the top and ending up at the bottom? I've seen a few videos of that, something I've not tried before.

      @@countkostaki You can knit in any direction you like, but usually I use this ribbing-at-the-end technique for a pocket top, sock cuff, or neckline, something I'd probably knit last.

    HI!DO YOU KNOW HOW TO DO FALLING LEAF IN THIS KIND OF MACHINE?

    • @dianaknits
      @dianaknits  Год назад +1

      I am not sure what stitch you are referring to, but I imagine it is a lace. There are a lot of pretty leaf-themed laces for knitting machines which usually utilize a lace carriage. This particular machine is a Brother 270 and I have done a very pretty leaf lace edging on a shawl (it's in my Shawl Collection book) by hand transferring the stitches. The 270 is a bulky machine and bulky machines do not have lace carriages.
