I like how Matt built a giant wrecker and said a new bronco was about the heaviest thing he built it for, then there's Eric pulling a diesel 4 door superduty that probably weighs more than his wrecker does
Ya but Matt still recovers stupid fullsize stuff with it. He just points out.. that's not what he built it for. And Erik is the o.g. And the wrecker is like 11,000 that's like 7 of what's left of that's super duty.
@@Youjackwagon He needs a truck built and designed properly for the severe duty use he is putting it thru not some patched together light duty crap like that clapped out old pickup truck,(I am a 40+ years mechanic with ASE and other specialty certifications), for about 7 years I worked at an outfit that used to build specialty off road trucks and equiptment such as forest fire fighting off road fire trucks, ambulances, mining trucks and recovery vehicles, and bless his heart he tries and does help with no charge for people, but with the stuff he is trying to use being horribly not up to the task being asked of it he had better never get tired of constant breakage and repair, as I have seen from many of his vids that is the way of it and quite expected, but the specialty vehicles that outfit used to build would be way out of his pocket book anyhow because the cheaper ones used for stuff like this started at a quarter million dollars 30 years ago when I worked there, but they would never break like his truck does.
@@looseballs1966 The problem is not his truck its the fact that people are getting heavier off road vehicle and using them. Does he need to upgrade probably but if you watch the other off road recovery guys they all have upgraded they fleet as well. But they have the money to do so unlike BSF .
@@looseballs1966Don't forget, Eric spends his week working a full time job as a mechanic. Where all the other youtube channels are doing it full time. The BSF wrecker is a K30 chassis, it's also one of the more reliable wreckers you see at the events they go too. Because it's small things breaking normally.
Eric looks like you need a piece of railroad on your front bumper for weight. Well, Eric all the more reason for you to get Myra's truck done so you will have a backup. Good luck.
That's one event you'll never forget. Unfortunately you'll remember it for all the wrong reasons. But, I'm thinking you'll still go after the 2nd truck.
OMG, it's just one of those days! But as always, you will rise to the challenge! Awesome job, Abby, you have the best to learn from! Bless the BSF Recovery Team😊
Awesome to see Abby helping her dad today and sounds like the misfire in the wrecker is getting worse. Sounds like a good time to fix the flywheel, winch rope, misfire and hydraulic issue. Sounds like a lot of work coming up. Not to mention that the front axle is broken on the jeep. Abby is the only one who didn't break down.
Wow, has it really been that long? The old wrecker, the old theme music, BSC didn't exist yet....I've been following this channel for a loooong time. You have come so far, glad it has worked out for you
Haven't got to the video yet. Waiting for commercials to play through. But I think that the Jeep wrecker needs to be finished so that the old square body can get a full make over.
Someone put a whammy of a jinx on you and made it a hard day to be in the neighborhood. Push on, never give up. Can you do a farmers splice on the boom winch?
Eric i think the wrecker needs some serious upgrades for sure. It is a workhorse and something u depend on a lot i think if you put some time in on the wrecker it can be better then ever. If you do go get the other truck i would make sure you have back up just in case
if you pick the boom up higher it will help to transfer the weight forward on the steering axle .I used to have to do that on the old holmes 500 wrecker back in the 70's when towing a heavy truck to steer.😊
You should call up Freedom Winch Lines and see if they can get you some neon green Trail Mater line! Then Rory will be with ya in spirit. Which won't help things from breaking at all, but at least it will be fun!
you know if yall went to a 12 valve cummins in the wrecker and a nv4500 it would solve a lot of issues, power, weight in the front end and more gears not to mention 1st in a nv4500 is lower then what the th400 has
@10:07... Are those rounded off teeth I see, on the flywheel? Man, it sounds like the timing jumped, after the synthetic rope broke (maybe just a misfire?). The Wrecker is in need of some serious love.
Sounded like it was starving for fuel or got some bad spark plugs. More reason why I think the wrecker needs an upgraded LS Engine. Maybe once you get Blondie done, that can happen for the ol wrecker
I towed an x-cab Ford Diesel off of Donner Summit a few years back. They are really heavy. Luckily I had recently had the rear springs rebuilt and over-loads put in also. My 78 GMC was in much better condition than this one though
I used to put 20k in the back of a box truck that was only rated for 26k gross (so roughly 10k overweight) had similar steering issue😂😂. The day I had 3 people sitting on the hood for counterbalance the state trooper who observed (luckily I was in the parking lot) this made it extremely clear that I should rethink some life choices and maybe make two trips😁😁
Had a 3/4 ton International truck with a engine pulling setup like a A frame front and back of bed and a 6" I beam with chain hoist down the center of A frames stuck out the back for enough to pickup engines. Had a car body hanging on it going to the scrapyard past the place twice because front wheels were barely touching the road and it wouldn't turn. Do not kniw how I made it to 63 but had lots of fun.
Sounds like time to redo the red truck to handle these bigger diesel trucks. Diesels are getting more popular in theoffroad world due to fuel mileage and reliablity. I'd love to build an offroad tow truck using an OBS F-450 with a powerstroke engine.
Listening at the engine in that wrecker--man I would not feel too comfortable taking that rig too far unless IT was the one on the trailer. Bad, bad misfire--sounds valvy or upper block cam, lifters, etc. I would just go and buy a pre built turn -key 4-5 hundred horse power mill from a reputable builder with a warranty and call it a day. Don't care what anybody says --you can't screw around like you are and have something that will really please you !!!!!!!! Jim
If you're gonns tow that Ford in gear, be sure to have the engine running to help. Or with the engine off, take it out of 4wd and out of gear. Just a kindly suggestion.
Erik, maybe a suck down winch up front will help tilt some weight forward for when your got a heavy ass like you did when recovering that first rig (diesel)
I don't think BSF recoveries will ever get old!!
Abby ---------- BSF the next generation ,marvelous.
Great seeing Abby helping with hooking up vehicles.
Those darned powerstrokes are HEAVY!!!!!!
Poor Towbie.......
I like how Matt built a giant wrecker and said a new bronco was about the heaviest thing he built it for, then there's Eric pulling a diesel 4 door superduty that probably weighs more than his wrecker does
Yes but no... the terrain they work in, couldn't be much more different... Lemmons and tomatoes are both fruit. 😅
Ya but Matt still recovers stupid fullsize stuff with it. He just points out.. that's not what he built it for.
And Erik is the o.g.
And the wrecker is like 11,000 that's like 7 of what's left of that's super duty.
I think that poor wrecker needs some serious love.. new cables, steering and a spa day
He needs more weight up front. Front ends lifting up.

Good job Abbey
That F250 Diesel was a heavy rig to pull out.
Yes it was
Great to see Abby getting involved!
Eric looks like you need a piece of railroad on your front bumper for weight. Well, Eric all the more reason for you to get Myra's truck done so you will have a backup. Good luck.
I can just imagine the banter from Myra about needing to recover Eric's rig. She will forget who helped build Blondie.

Yep, your wrecker needs some loving 😊

i wonder if the side by side wheel base has streched out
Cool video, I have had my share of those days!!! Wrecker is in need of some love!!!!
7:02 my back hurts just watching those jarring hits
Trail Mater Rope to the rescue!❤.. And Poor Red😮.. dayum
It would be great to see the truck get the love it needs, just because 👍🏻that truck belongs with you and your family.
Looks like the wrecker needs some love
LOVE the recovery videos!!! 😀
Erik looks like you need some heavier rear leaf springs or extra overloads so your truck wont squat so bad!
Another great video and I'm looking forward to the videos from the off-road games.
The struggle bus is real and it loves passengers!
Glad that was only the rope and hydro. It could have been the frame like the first one which would have been worse.
From the sounds of it the ol’ wrecker is ready to retire
keep the clips coming
So Wise , Thank You . a fine example of how breakage happens even to the Best.
Good Job! Took above average amount of work and some overcoming of problems but you got him out! Now to figure what's wrong with the wrecker🤔 😁
That old wrecker is a workhorse she needs some TLC again
One rough event... Great seeing Abby helping out like she does...
Go Abby go!! Great to see a young lady getting involved....
looks like the jeep wrecker needs to be put on hold because you have some main issues to contend with on the square body wrecker
Haven't got to the video yet. Waiting for commercials to play through. But I think that the Jeep wrecker needs to be finished so that the old square body can get a full make over.
Got to get you a weight bracket for the front, sounds like a case of water in the fuel.
The side by side is a beast 😂 the driver of it is even more of a beast lol 😂😂😂
Pulling that first truck looked like a Matchbox towing a Tonka truck. A smaller truck towing a larger.
Well, one problem after another. You had your hands full on this one. Great video.
Rough day on the trail! Those days happen.
your recoveries are turning into a full time occupation, Keep on wheeling BSF, might be time for Matt and you to build a Heavy Off Road behemoth :)
Just wow on the side by side trying to pull a bellied out jeep pickup 😂😂😂
I've been there trying to haul hay bails on the back of a tractor. Luckily the tractor had drag brakes on the back wheels so I could still "steer."
Someone put a whammy of a jinx on you and made it a hard day to be in the neighborhood. Push on, never give up. Can you do a farmers splice on the boom winch?

You should call up Freedom Winch Lines and see if they can get you some neon green Trail Mater line! Then Rory will be with ya in spirit. Which won't help things from breaking at all, but at least it will be fun!
Sounds like you might need a new ow truck with all the you have with it
Love the videos, that poor wrecker needs some work. She needs going through and repairing, the exhaust and header gaskets especially.
Sounds like that old wrecker could use some love! Sounding pretty tired!
Fun fact, get you a starter for a 98 ish half ton 350. Fits just the same and it's a factor mini high torque starter. I did that on my 92.
The side by side earned its keep pulling the blue Jeep off of the hill.

💯 % correct.
Good suggestions.
👍
All those jeeps in a row being towed 😳🤪🤯 JEEP …Just Empty Every Pocket! 😅😂🤣
Great video just a bad day we all have them
It was a bit of a role reversal towing out that line of Jeeps. Haha, I've been on the hook a time or two, happy to lend a hand where I can.
The wrecker needs some T L C time sometime and give it some love
Going to Utah for the games? Good luck crew 👍
Take it from experience preventive maintenance is the key to a smooth operation hint, hint,👍
Maybe time for a bigger wrecker? A lot of the stuff you pick up looks a bit oversized although interesting to watch!
Depends on if you can fix the steering enough to pull it backwards. I quick weld with some flat strap might be the ticket.
Ever think of putting a portable welder on your rig to fold fix things like that
Yeah, the toughest off road wrecker needs a little shop time. I'll bet you get that other truck out though.
You were having a rough day. I hope part 2 is a little more pleasant for you
@10:07... Are those rounded off teeth I see, on the flywheel? Man, it sounds like the timing jumped, after the synthetic rope broke (maybe just a misfire?). The Wrecker is in need of some serious love.
I don’t care what anyone says Eric is proof that sbc are so indestructible and up to any challenge😂
Gday guys
Big red tomato ,youre out , Blondie youre up .
I pick on people that ride with me when I pull the car trailer telling them I hate tail waters, and there's a car on the trailer
Maybe it will get a break and some upgrades when Blondie is finished.
The old wrecker needs a 12 valve😊
I was going to say your wrecker dont sound very healthy hopefully its just something minor have fun be safe
Sounded like it was starving for fuel or got some bad spark plugs. More reason why I think the wrecker needs an upgraded LS Engine. Maybe once you get Blondie done, that can happen for the ol wrecker
Get Blondie on line as soon as possible!
The wrecker needs a 6 l motor now it's how about time for a change 350 small block is just a little under power needs a little bit more ponies😁
Was that the Trail Mater Technical Rope behind Towbie? 😉
I think you need to get cup holders in the tow truck

New motor big cam gets sum torque or diesel !!!
i suppose you have one to donate to Eric? He does these recoveries for free.
Think it's time to upgrade, like building a new truck
You need to get a big block or hang some tractor relates on that front bumper
I think it's time to retire that old, worn out SBC and put in a fresh BBC.😁💪👊
hey a Trail Mater tow rope
That RZR isn't going to last long abusing it like that! Doesn't look like it was in 4x4 either! That wasn't a wise decision
Ya it sounds like the wrecker moter is getting tyerd
Needs a lsx motor and sum weight up front.. wrecker is just old and wrecked
That wrecker is too small for those heavy diesel trucks.
What year is the wrecker?
Eric that synthetic winch rope has been on the wrecker for how long
About 4 years, I have a new one
