  • Qualcomm made a takeover approach to rival Intel in recent days, according to people familiar with the matter. A deal for Intel would be massive and come as the chip maker has been suffering through one of the most significant crises in its five-decade history. Ed Ludlow has more on "Bloomberg The Close."

I wonder how he would pronounce "quality" or "Paul."

Just like it was stated Qualcomm is a chip designer. Therefore they want one of two things or both things: Intel designs or to ability to make their own chips (in addition to design) or all of the above. Thats just my ballpark opinion though.

Nah, they are in ARM not X86, they have their future and project with High power ARM CPU and RISC-5 with partnership of Mediatek and just doesn't match

makes absolutely NO sense at all for Qualcomm... Intel is screwed from all sides. It is a generation behind in cutting-edge manufacturing to TSMC and Samsung.
And even worse in Design. It’s very raison d’être x86 is dying. It can’t compete with GPUs in computational performance and with ARM in power efficiency. And that’s where computing is headed. GPUs in the cloud/datacenter and ARM in edge devices (mobile, laptop).
Qualcomm is already moving towards filling in the ARM replacement for x86 in windows and Linux in laptops.
    Intel is D.O.N.E. 🙏🏽

Your last statement makes sense, would it be that QCOM actually wanted the acquisition so that they can slowly kill x86 to obsolescence in favor of ARM?

DUDE TWO GENERATIONS BEHIND, WAIT FOR 18A NODES AND EVEN WORSE IN DESIGN WAIT FOUR DAYS FOR LUNAR LAKE REVIEWS
IT IS EVIDENT THAT YOU DO NOT KNOW TOO MUCH ABOUT INTEL

Intel is far behind AMD in CPU cores/price.

Says who? In all the test performed by independent tester, intel in a faster CPU. Reliability is the question.

Why would a leading edge smartphone chip giant want to be taken over by Intel, until and unless Qualcomm wants to takeover Intel.
