I didn't understand the whole thing with Apu. The show is all stereotypes. The neglectful father, stay at home mum, hyperactive brother, brainy sister, the womanizing politian, corrupt cops, the Indian convenient shop owner. I mean, the Simpsons are the epitome of white Anglo Saxon Protestants. But Apu wasn't a bad guy. He adapted to an American way of life, worked hard, and took care of his family. Granted, I'm not Indian so that's just my two cents.
