This is my only personal competition with Porsche Taycan & Macan 4…. This loses out for me because of its emulation of Tesla interiors in all the bad ways … Porsche cockpits are second to none in terms of displays, and it helps that you can operate climate controls outside of the infotainment screen (and without voice commands)

I drive the polestar 2 for about three years and just order my polestar 3. Can't wait. Polestar is a very driving friendly vehicle. Most of people don't know polestar and thought it is expensive. But once you drive it, you will find it worth. I drive Porsche tycan before, so I can say that polestar drives like Porsche but much cheaper than the Porsche with same trim and package. I am in US and I ordered my polestar 3 with all the packages except Lidar and cost just above $100,000. I think it definitely worth it, because I got a great experience for my polestar 2. I think you should do a test drive and feel it, before make any assumptions.

One friend tells me he rents a gas vehicle when he does road-trips. Hooray manual air vents! That trend of moving to digitally controlled vents is so stupid and adds no value. But boo for lack of dedicated buttons for adjusting mirrors and steering wheel. Stop moving simple functions into buried screen menus!! And double boo for single switches for all 4 windows. Why would you copy the single most hated feature in the I.D.4?! Literally no one prefers this. If I were gonna buy this I'd probably wait for the year 2 version where they go back to 4 switches after get roasted by every reviewer and customer for such a dumb decision that saves almost no money and add nothing to the customer experience.

@@ronkemperfulI am glad you mentioned customer reports reliability rating, I was going to bring up the same thing. Our neighbors leased a Polestar 2. They ended up having to do a Lemon Law buy back. All the screens went black on the way from dealership after picking it up and bring it home. After that it was in and out of service until they lawyered up. Myself, I am on the fence with electric vehicles. I think I would wait until the technology matures or something new like solid state batteries or something else better comes along. I am just not completely convinced the current technology is sustainable the way it is now. Hopefully things get better.

This is not a simple statement. It's a publicly traded corporation on the Stockholm exchange headquartered in Sweden. Geely owns around 40% of Polestar directly, Volvo still owns about 40% and Geely owns over 75% of Volvo, so ultimately around 71% of Polestar is owned by Geely. It seems that the long term plan is to divest slowly until they hold around 50% of both companies.
