A 10/10 to the point no BS review!! You have my sympathies for the difficulties you encountered on the liveaboard. I would not put up with the BS you described. I have been on many liveaboards all over the world and it is much more miserable on a liveaboard when things go wrong than when in a resort setting. Thank you for sharing and for the time you put in this effort. P.S. An 185 Bar isn't a fill, not even in Libya. That is totally unacceptable.
This was very interesting indeed. I have been considering a liveaboard. My problem is that having been on plenty of ski trips I know that groups - be them friends or strangers - can soon grate. What you experienced is a big concern of mine. Thanks for your work.
I think you got a good thing going here, and you should make a similar system for dive resorts. When you get here we can go around diving with different resorts and review em
Oh, and on the point of the Dohni ladder...why don't they have diver lifts Brian? Is there a gap in the market in these warm climes to be supplying and fitting decent diver lifts to the boats? Ladders....Pfffttt...so last century!!
Not sure how practical a lift would be with 22 divers. A lot of the the pick ups can be in quite rough conditions. You will see what I mean in some upcoming videos
185 bar is not a fill. I come out with more than that on some dives! They'd be getting lined up and shot in the UK if they were handing out 💩 fills like that. No no no.... we like steel 15's cause not only do they have better dive characteristics than the ali 80's that start negative, then end up buoyant at the end of a dive meaning you have to carry more lead, but it's also the increased capacity due to the size AND the fact that they can be blown up to 232 bar (and maybe a squeak more if your filling station is a little cheeky) No point having a steel 15 with 185 bar in it... Sounds like they need someone who knows how to fill a tank. I may possibly be availabe for the right remuneration package 😆😆😆
