Holy shit, thanks for 1 million views! Never thought this video would explode like this… Being honest, I don't think there will be a second part. The background piano music is what keeps it grounded. The part based on pi has so many off-beat rythms that it would be near-impossible to keep track of the rythm by itself.
Damn this makes me feel unconfortable for some reason, it could be used as a form of torture, it makes me imagine that since pi is infinite this is what you hear when entering hell and then forever after.

ive had this video in a playlist with a single other video since middle school. i remember walking between classes playing it in my headphones, its cheery upbeat randomness being the main thing keeping me going throughout the day. its one of my fondest memories of school in general. recently i looked through the playlists i had, and stumbled across said playlist once more. im 18 now, ive been out of school for a year, and yet this song has once again become a go-to for a small burst of motivation and energy that is sorely needed after this whole pandemic and the rest of the chaos thats ensued. this is basically the only song with no lyrics that can cheer me up from the bad moods i didnt even know i had. even after all these years, im still here lurking and listening to this masterpiece. what compelled me to write this? i dont know. maybe the fact that its 6 am and i havent slept? point is, im glad this video is still up, its been very helpful surprisingly :}
That's base 10 specific, try going for a more natural base and have the numbers represent frequencies! Great video nonetheless. EDIT: I have an idea that I'll probably program when I have the time to do so. Note frequency = [Middle C frequency] + 2 ^ ((1/12) * digit in base 12 or 13)
@NamedKitten Neither am I, but I would set 0 as the frequency of middle C and every digit above it with a higher frequency - not in a linear way, but rather as the previous frequency times the 12th root of 2.
@@k27ism I found a website that'll save the need to calculate pi in different bases yourself: turner.faculty.swau.edu/mathematics/materialslibrary/pi/pibases.html

In the Original Plants Vs. zombies games, it mentions that the Sunflower bobs to the invisible beat of the universe. I checked and it matches the beat of the song. thumbs.gfycat.com/ImpracticalPhonyBoilweevil-size_restricted.gif
I feel like the rhythm is really important
it ends at 420. 👏
👌
😂
🤠
42 is the answer
👍
I was searching for sad music, not for endless happyness
I hate/love you so much right now
Transpose this to A minor. There is your sad music.
HapPIness get it ? no ok I'm gonna go
happy pi day two days ago
So pi can be a forever on ongoing song
The real never-ending song
THIS IS THE SONG THAT NEVER ENDS!
How to calm down before a math test
when you’re doing your math homework in band
now it tastes good and sounds good
*sees this*
*patd mode activated*
*IF IT FEELS GOOD, TASTES GOOD*
ahhhhhhhhhh good one
Qwerty Top It also looks good imo. The pi symbol to me looks cool.
Tastes? Wut?
NetroAlex He meant a PIE, get it?
9:00 Awesome
Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah thats really Nice
And also at the 9 minute mark!
Wait...
TheLunatic God is watching
It is the so called "Feynman's point" as far as I know! It comes from a nice tale: he liked to trick his students (he was one of the Most important physicists in XX) by showing pi up to that spot and saying "999999 and so on" as it was periodic from that point on :D
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees is very good
Best moments :
0:48-11:41
Fluffycat264 You do not have a sense. The best moment is decided from 0:48-11:41, is not it?
ああ ああ that's the joke
whooooooooooooooooooooooooosh
That 9 streak at around 770 was cool (and if I ever memorize pi into the hundreds, that's where I'm stopping). And I loved the 9-less streak around 900 (the high note was almost beginning to sound to ding-y). Love this. Thank you.
The 9 streak smashed me in the face with music and math, so hot
Can you please upload it without the background piano music? I would love that.
yea
no
The background piano music is what keeps it grounded. The part based on pi has so many off-beat rythms that it would be near-impossible to keep track of the rythm by itself.
Rasta Hat Attack you must speak for yourself as you don't know who has what abilities to do so
It literally has no patterns whatsoever without the background, Rasta's right
And That's how I play piano
well knowing a pentatonic scale is a pretty good start
*PI* ano AHAHAHAHA (kill me)
you said you're throwing random numbers :P
Others : What music do you listen to?
Me, an intelectual : hold my phone
Sounds like a really catchy broadway song. I love it
This actually sounds like a pretty lovely and happy tune :P
that's the work of the I-VII-IV-V chord progression
Deathmaxter it’s very upbeat
Deathmaxter it's normal this tune is ha-pi !!!
Of course it ends on 420.
Sennoma Uzanto i see a lot of things about this number but what does it mean ?
W O U L D Y O U L I K E T O ? !
It's a number assocciated with cannabis. See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/420_(cannabis_culture)
Oh ok thanks
W O U L D Y O U L I K E T O ? ! Lol, 420 is the date where weed is allowed in public for a certain amount of time
that is a myth btw
We should send this shit to space to contact happy dancing aliens from the Broadway Nebula
quidpronihilo i know it's not real, but now i wish i lived in the broadway nebula that sounds friggin amazing
quidpronihilo y e s
XD that supposed to be a happy alien
"Pi equals 3.14
The devil pie's big enough to justify the whole thing"
I don't get it
The background sound like western saloon music
9:00 This is called the Feynman Point, with multiple consecutive 9s in a row. It sounds weird.
Gwyn, Lord of Cinder a minute 9
Honestly though, since it resolves with the 8, it ends up sounding unique and totally fine... Kinda wierd
6 to be exact
Damn this makes me feel unconfortable for some reason, it could be used as a form of torture, it makes me imagine that since pi is infinite this is what you hear when entering hell and then forever after.
Matt Mustang wtf.
then hell doesn't seem all that bad
i was bored to the first line this is not beautiful, more u listen it more u find it painful, it's like if i press full random notes with a repetitive hell piano background. I'm agree with u Matt
Oh god now I'm scared of this song
Anthro What did you expect?
Played this while doing math homework
CHEATING
9:00
999999
Perfection.
The song that never ends awesome.
When your math teacher is also your music teacher.
ive had this video in a playlist with a single other video since middle school. i remember walking between classes playing it in my headphones, its cheery upbeat randomness being the main thing keeping me going throughout the day. its one of my fondest memories of school in general. recently i looked through the playlists i had, and stumbled across said playlist once more. im 18 now, ive been out of school for a year, and yet this song has once again become a go-to for a small burst of motivation and energy that is sorely needed after this whole pandemic and the rest of the chaos thats ensued. this is basically the only song with no lyrics that can cheer me up from the bad moods i didnt even know i had. even after all these years, im still here lurking and listening to this masterpiece. what compelled me to write this? i dont know. maybe the fact that its 6 am and i havent slept? point is, im glad this video is still up, its been very helpful surprisingly :}
Dude, you should do all the digits of pi, I want to hear the whole song!
Mr Pebbles we've got an idiot here
That would take literally forever 😄😂 Pi is an infinite number so yeah
I bet it was a joke..
It was a joke people
A livestream would work, though it would end never.
RUclips? CAN I LIKE TWICE?
Derek Conway [GD] I'd say sharing the video is worth at least two likes ;)
It's not so cool...
this video is worth 3 like and a little bit ....i would say 3,14265 like
oh shet man, that pun was... I donno to say it is awful or amazing! xD
Derek Conway [GD] no, but you can do what i did and *cough*subscribe*cough* add the video to a "superliked" playlist.
This is the first video I've found to have over 1,000 views and no dislikes. It's certainly worthy of that achievement!
Nathan O Thank you, I appreciate it! :)
It's amazing how, since this sequence is infinite, all our favorite piano songs are contained into pi at some point.
It's that time again when you think that everything has been tried and it's not interesting, but here it is.
Original and new.
@@bip901 what programs do you think would work or help enable constructing the notes together?
@@k27ism I think programming is the way to go. Even a simple C# Console Application can play notes of a given frequency.
@@k27ism I found a website that'll save the need to calculate pi in different bases yourself:
turner.faculty.swau.edu/mathematics/materialslibrary/pi/pibases.html
nerds
Old man: this generation is so dumb with their dumb music
Me:
Somewhere in pi is the tune for song, every meme, and all possible musical compositions...
Not in this way, hed have to assign combinations of numbers to all 12 notes, and it would most likely sound like a schoenberg piece at first, but yhea then it would definitely be there!
Gonna email to my maths teacher on pi day
Autisti-comet my birthday was on pi day and Stephen Hawkings died that day. Your welcome for your daily dose of d e p r e s s i o n !
Mimi Marie March 12-14th
It’s 3 days to celebrate math and my birthday is on the 2nd day of that.
Mimi Marie March 14th, the reason is the first 3 digits of pi are 3.14 and if you imagine that as a date you would get 3/14 which is March 14th.
What did your teacher think?
Maybe pi had a different meaning, in that it was supposed to be music?!?!?
MasterChef 117 piano *piano* pi
MasterChef 117 no
Well if it was, How would you know where the pauses would be. And no it means the circumference of a... square :)
no......no it wasn't :○
pi is "3.14" It says PIE upside-down
Happy Pi Day everyone!
Kayla Pearl CP Ninja do u know it wasnt pi day 2 weeks ago
Happy pi day on April 18th
lol pi day is my birthday
....pi day is March 14th...
ha ha ha.
I can't believe that I listened to the whole thing...
Happy Pi day, and RIP Stephen.
The last three numbers are 420, lol
Bro, why did you spoil the song tho?
Sounds oddly like a wholesome piece... Music is math.
Wouldn't that kinda mean music is science aswell
literally no one:
RUclips recommended: *_Pi as Music_*
Reminds me of portal 2,
Glados just does the math music.
testythetester omg this does sound like something that Glados would do
Even math can be cool sometimes.
But not at school.
how dare you
math is AMAZING
and I am nerd
obviously
Agree
To cool for school
School math does suck. A lot.
i, um, memorized 60 places of pi with this video.
You should listen to 'Sweet Number Pi' by CollegeHumor. I memorized 144 digits using that song.
Huh, maybe this method would be good for memorizing pi.
why? You are missing infinite places yet so...
+RGV last Yep.
Laura Marsh nice
When you realize this is a lyric video
Edit: I forgot I wrote this, and scrolling down the comments, I just blew my own mind.
