The universe doesn’t care about our existence or welfare and our lives have meaning only to the extent that we give them meaning. Every single moment that we were alive is miraculous, not miraculous in the supernatural sense. We are the beneficiaries of chance being alive. We are insignificant and only important to family and friends, but life is not meaningless as we create meaning through having a purposeful life that feels good to live and goals worthy of pursuing.
You are a creation, made by a Creator. And your purpose was pre-determined by that Creator. And that Creator is God. God made sure that whatever sufferings we humans are suppose to feel emotionally or mentally from our inability to withstand life on our own, has been overcome for us, and we can live in peace and in relationship with God when we admit our weaknesses and draw closer to a relationship with Him. All we must do is accept this access to Him, through Jesus His son. God gave you a nature to do good and accomplish worthy goals because you were given an ability to bless the Earth through your skills, talents, and heart of service. But as human beings, it is difficult to do so perfectly or all the time, we are limited with flaws. That is why we are made to have a relationship with God, where God will teach us, council us, forgive us for our mistakes, and support us. We are meant to live in communion with He who created us - what better purpose is there than that? God is an Almighty and Holy, who established order and right from wrong. When we fail in doing and being good, and when we do what makes us "feel" good even though it is devastating, we are meant to live through the consequences. The closer you are to what is good and true, the closer your soul will know fulfillment, and the farther you are from fundamentally (not subjectively) good, the farther your soul is from fulfillment. Yet, we are able to do access a relationship with Almighty and Holy God despite being weak and flawed humans because Jesus, who science agrees with existed, died for us. So I say again, whatever sufferings we are suppose to feel emotionally or mentally from our inability to withstand life on our own, has been overcome for us, and we can know live in peace and in relationship with God.

Meaning is something that one has to impute after the fact. Does my life have meaning? Yes. To whom does it have meaning? To me (if not also to someone else). Why does it have meaning to me? Because I am imputing meaning to it. Suffice it to say, if I were to go around looking for meaning before the fact of my deliberate imputation of it, I'd never find it.
Your life has meaning because it was created by a Creator with a specific intention and purpose. You are a creation, made by a Creator. And your purpose was pre-determined by that Creator. And that Creator is God. 'The meaning of human life is simply to create meaning'. According to this video. Anyone with a basic grasp of meaning will find this 'happy ending' absurdly circular. It's a lot like saying 'the meaning of pizza, is to create pizza'. Or 'the meaning of art, is to create art.' A distinction has to be drawn between personal meanings like "I love blue cheese, there fore cheese has meaning for me" and universal meanings - truth, beauty, ethics, purpose etc. What this video is trying to do is elevate personal meanings to the status of universal meaning. It's the same old 1960s baby boomer logic of 'hey everyone be cool and do your own thing'. It's like saying 'if blue cheese has meaning for you, that's your meaning in life,' and 'if jogging has meaning for you, that your meaning in life'. Its easy to see that this argument is flawed, and that meaning in this usage if being reduced down to likes and preferences.
I think that the video says how you wont figure out the universal meaning of life, and that we should settler with the second best meaning, personal meaning
they're saying the meaning of life is whatever you make it. whatever you find meaning in. not that that's why we're here, but more like life is whatever we take out of it
It's the cringey word-salad of a dim mind, lacking the courage to say what follows plainly and straight-forwardly from his belief system: LIFE IS MEANINGLESS. Or worse than the cowardice, maybe so devoid of self-awareness that he literally doesn't even realize that this is the pants-on-head obvious conclusion that follows.
Exactly. Human beings are not capable of creating meaning. We are only capable of creating interpretations of a meaning we presuppose or believe to inherently exist. I always thought the whole notion of “we create meaning” is just new age BS designed as a coping mechanism against inherent meaninglessness.
What a joke! First we deny that there is meaning to declare life meaningless. Afterwards, we try attributing meaning to that what we have declared meaningless. But then again, only a monkey believes he's a monkey because he's assumingly no longer swinging in trees!

The meaning of life is to know, love and serve God as best we can. The Catholic Faith is the way He desires to be served. "Do what thou wilt" ( Satanism) vs "Let thy will be done" ( Christian). Choose this day whom you will serve.

It's like degrees of arc radiating away from a central point always getting more space between more possibilities.
Didn't even come close to answering the big question.
