I was in tears when you said one day Gaza will be able to open its airport and they can fly in and out of it as they wish. It is amazing how involved all of us now at this stage in the Palestinian struggle and how badly we want to see these people happy, safe and liberated.

I believe the end is near for Israel, or at least the Israel that the Israelis now have. Regimes do collapse quickly when key pressure points align, of which there are now so many. The realignment of the global south towards China and Russia. The emergence of Iran as the dominant Middle Eastern power (aligned to Russia and China) that is influencing other key Middle Eastern states. A new trade route bypassing suez. The ability/ inability of the US and Israeli militaries to perform with overwhelming superiority against new technology. The economic position of the US and Israel. The substantial collapse of the Israeli propaganda war in the west. The exponential logistical and economic burden of being an occupying power that constantly expands civilian settlements requiring military protection. The moral turpitude of the vast majority of the Israeli citizens who do not have a legitimate cause to fight for. The undying humanity, heroism and perseverance of the Palestinian people.

The Palestinians definitely need an airport and Yasser Arafat Airport seems a natural name for one but, there's no reason why they shouldn't have several airports and at least one should be named Leila Khaled Airport. It's only appropriate. 😁✈️ I can see no reason why the leading clique of Zionist politics would want to end the war and genocide. The Entity is going to have to be broken and defeated militarily, economically, socially, etc. An immediate ceasefire is of course, the first step down this path. However, after that, there's going to have to be a process of de-Zionification, a re-education of the Israeli population as to their true history, fair public trials for the Israeli war criminals and profiteers, so that the world would know their crimes, and so that the voices of Palestinians, who have been victimized by Zionism, can be heard. Without this, healing will be nigh impossible. We have a long road to walk but, we are running down that road at a speed not matched in my lifetime and perhaps never since the Nakba began . Arafat was the name of a real airport. It was so pretty, built in the Moroccan style and very busy in the late 1990s. It was the base for Palestinian Airlines which I flew several times. The second intifada saw an end to flights.
