    My thoughts:
    1) I definitely would have gone with adding quality role players instead of PG. I don't agree with Grant's rationale. Yes, you need Embiid to be healthy to win a title. But you also need the other players to be healthy. What happens if Embiid is healthy in the playoffs for once in his life but PG's 34-year-old injury-prone body breaks down? I just think the best possible outcome -- that all three guys are healthy during the playoffs AND your role players give you enough--is too unlikely. We've seen the last couple of seasons that your players 3-7 really matter now.
    2) I don't love Dallas's offseason like you do. Marshall is not a replacement for the on-ball defense of DJJ and Josh Green. I'm a Marshall mega-fan. I think he's a better all-around player than DJJ. But Dallas's point of attack defense was a huge part of their success. As for Klay, I can't find evidence that he's actually good anymore besides his name.
    3) I'm still frustrated with Orlando. KCP fits this team very well. But how can that be your only big move? Gary Trent is out there and is going to get signed for next to nothing. Add a shooter, ffs! KCP can shoot but his 1.6 3pt makes per game isn't solving your issues. They also need on-ball creation. Once again, he doesn't solve that.

      1) i guess i fail to see why you’re taking a different slant here compared to with Zion in New Orleans. also philly’s roster isn’t finished yet and they have added dudes so far who can actually play. getting another forward has to be a priority but they have the flex and picks to do that
      2) i mentioned that about DJJ I believe and also said this is probably a vote of confidence in Exum. also: i think you’re wildly overrating Josh green imho I just didn’t see it from him in the playoffs. agree on Marshall’s overall package but I think he does a good job against change of pace guys (like a shai for example)
      3) i wouldn’t say i totally agree here but I get it. haven’t addressed their biggest need. but again, offseason is still young. everybody gets some semblance of benefit of the doubt for now-except Denver lol

    The Orlando Magic offseason has been a disgrace. KCP and de Silva and the old rinse and repeat. We have NO scorers (outside of Banchero and F Wagner). NOTHING to hate about the Magic offseason are you serious??? EVERY offseason move Orlando made was a fucking joke. Isaac should NEVER have been re-signed, Mo Wagner should NEVER have been re-signed, KCP should NEVER have been signed, Harris should NEVER have re-signed. The only good thing is losing Fultz because we did NOTHING that was intelligent

    Denver's cheap ownership may have derailed a dynasty. It wouldn't be the first time. When you're at the point where you're thinking about adding Westbrook, you're no longer a contender. I'm not sure how anyone still talks themselves into that guy. Give me OKC in the West. I like their roster construction more than Dallas or Minnesota, and I also like their ability to make more moves if they get to the trade deadline and see an opportunity.

    Thunder have been developing Dieng as a ball handler. And Topic is coming next year

    • @HardwoodKnocksNBA

      said they could have internal development, and i like dieng, but I don't think either of them are *the* answer for a team with title aspirations now. but we'll see.

    Great show as always. PG13 went from a polarizing player in Indy, signed with another team for the max, press conference he claimed to finally be on a team he liked. Then went to Clippers for a thousand draft picks and SGA. Clippers were a disaster as he was hurt or ineffective. Now off to Philly because Clippers wisely would give him a max. What"s going to be different? He will be in & out of the lineup and shoot from the outside and play matador defense. He's a player that can help them, but with his history ... all I can tell Philly is good luck. Thanks.
    As an aside, Google stopped carrying podcasts and recommended transferring to utube music. Google would notify me when new podcasts popped up, utube doesn’t do that, so I miss out on new podcasts unless accidentally stumble across them. Can you recommend something other than utube music for podcasts?

      thanks as always! i do disagree on the clippers front in the sense I think they're much worse without him so not going to a fourth year feels like a miss. still loads of offseason to play out tho...and i would recommend apple or spotify if you need a new platform...you could also turn on our RUclips post notifications as well if you prefer listening/watching here!

    Michael Malone will not play their young players. They have 6 players under 24 years of age and are actually one of the youngest teams in the league: Christian Braun, Jalen Pickett, Peyton Watson, Hunter Tyson, Zeke Naji and now Deron Holmes, and Michael Malone doesn't want to play any of them but Christian! It's just nuts. Michael Porter at 25 years old is actually the median age. Either Calvin Booth needs to be fired or Michael Malone needs to get with the program and play the young guys whether they're ready or have "earned it" or not, or else they need to fire Michael Malone! Because the Nuggets have NO tradable draft picks, and ZERO tradable contracts and the young players have ZERO trade value because they haven't developed because they haven't played. If the Nuggets wind up in the 6th seed because they play the young guys in the regular season, so what? At least Jokic Murray and Gordon will all be rested and healthy for the playoffs. And then we'll see if they can win another title with the best player in the world. Maybe MN or OKC is too good for them, but it didn't look like it last year. It looked like the Nuggets were still the best playoff team in the conference, but totally gassed because Malone played the veterans into the ground because he didn't trust the young guys.

    Can't believe you didn't love the Castle pick. Don't worry, you'll love him as a player, y'all had the right takes on Vassell and Castle is next but more NBA ready by far

    • @HardwoodKnocksNBA
      @HardwoodKnocksNBA  3 месяца назад +1

      i just don't see the plug-and-playness of castle, necessarily, on offense. need to see what he's like as a passer at this level and whether the jumper comes along.

    • @rome8180
      @rome8180 3 месяца назад +1

      Vassell could shoot. He had excellent indicators. It's amazing to me that people keep banking on bad shooters improving their shooting. How often does that happen? Like 5% of the time? So many of the best picks in the last five years have had amazing college efficiency stats (Haliburton, Bane, JJJ, Vassell, Keegan Murray, Holmgren, Trey Murphy, Brand Miller, etc). People really overcomplicate this stuff.
      Also, he thinks he's a point guard. Are they really going to go full Sochan again?

    • @kirkgholson5545
      @kirkgholson5545 3 месяца назад

      @@rome8180 I'd say shooting is the easiest skill compared to length, effort on defense, all the elite intangibles Castle has. I love Vassell, but I just think Castle is more NBA ready than Vassell is entering the NBA.
