This video breaks my heart. I am so sorry that people say this, shocking. Its also hard to not get upset and take these comments personally.
All i have to say is, stop being you. You are so relatable and honest and i love having someone to watch who i can relate too but also to fully understand other peoples situations x

Sarah-Louise you are a better person than half of these people who’ve put in their assumptions. Neurotypicals love to spout the whole “you play on your autism” ableist rhetoric, yet we autistics know they wouldn’t be able to cope if they spent even a week with our difficulties. From one autistic person to another: Your videos have such a positive influence on my life. It’s refreshing to see another autistic person sharing their life in such an authentic way. If you have facebook there are lots of autistic communities / groups on there. I’m a part of them and surrounding myself with other ND people (rather than ignorant neurotypicals) has been great for my mental health. Hope you’re keeping well ❤

You shouldn’t care about what people assume- people on the internet (especially anonymous) will be horrible. You do you - enjoy your life.

It's hard to do that with ASD unfortunately, because we shape our personality so heavily on what people think, it makes everything a lot harder. I appreciate the sentiment though 🖤

I don't normally comment (because for some reason it's anxiety inducing) but I always make sure to leave a like and watch the ads but when you started crying and to the question of 'you play on your autism to get out of things?' It made me get quite upset too because I really felt your answer, like why on earth would I deliberately not "progress" in life and therefore feel like an absolute failure of a human being, I wished I could have friends and go out, go to uni and have a job etc and I wish sometimes I wasn't autistic and that I could cope with the World and get on like everyone else but it really is a matter of the World isn't designed for autistic people and just neurodivergent people in general and it fucking sucks and it's like I'm trying my best with my extremely limited resources what more do people want from us? Thank you for being genuine and honest and those people who sent those not well intentioned I hope like you said they watched this video and realised that being disabled isn't a choice and that a lot of wish we could function a lot better and have tried but those results have led into severe autistic burnouts and a dramatic decline in mental health.

I haven't watched the video yet but saw the message in the thumbnail. I'm beginning to think it's just a "thing" that "most" autistic people hear 😭 which really sucks and I like your reply. A few days ago I read in a autism FB group someone whose GP said to them "why do you want a diagnosis just so you can blame it when things go wrong" 😢 it's so difficult to deal with. I just wanted to confirm what you said.

Sorry it took me a while to reply, I've been struggling since the video and have just been avoiding comments and messages with what people said. I did see your comment come through though, when it did, and I really appreciated it. Thank you so much for commenting, every nice comment I get make the sting of the nasty ones go away a little bit, so thank you. I'm sorry you go through all this crap as well, it hard to just exist for us and I hope you're doing an amazing job going through it, and if not, I hope things get better. And thank you so much for your support, every like helps 🖤🖤

Yeah, I think you're right. People don't have the want to understand I think, and its especially disappointing coming from people in positions such as the GP. I hope that person is okay 🖤
