Megaprojects that will Save the World

- In the face of climate change and rising sea levels, many cities and countries are under threat. This is the case, for example, of the largest city in the USA, New York, which is repeatedly battered by hurricanes and floods. To cope with these natural hazards, the city is building a gigantic anti-submergence wall just across the East River, on Manhattan Island.
This is also the case in Venice, which is regularly flooded due to the phenomenon of high tides known as Acqua Alta, which is increasing with climate change... To protect itself, since 2003 the city of Venice has been implementing a protection system in the form of mobile dykes known as the Mose project.
Even more catastrophic, Japan has experienced devastating tsunamis such as the one in 2011. Since the disaster, the archipelago has built tsunami walls that are even bigger and more resistant than the previous ones, between 15 and 20 meters high in places. The city of Tokyo has also built a gigantic system of underground reservoirs and tunnels, known as G-Cans, to absorb its floods.
Finally, we turn to the Netherlands, where the problem of rising water levels has been with us for a long time. With its Delta project, the world's largest defense against rising waters, the country shows that it is possible to protect oneself effectively against this risk.

Video i nserts too short. ..one every few secs. = visual fatigue.... Slow down
netherlands changes the environment of an entire country and no one bats an eye.
Great video! Fun to watch the flat-earther set lose their minds with anything climate change related!
Very informative. But: the speed of the cuts is maddening and completely unneccesary, chatting-up to zeitgeist. And why the ultrawide format which is used in cinema projection? It's simply a loss of information by cutting the picture above and below, because none of the footage originally was shot in this format.
Dear Mr. British Narrator, I heard a few mistruths, inaccuracies, and false info. The biggest is that NYC, is NOT frequented by Hurricanes.
This is a propaganda video, mistruths galore!
It’s probably a AI voice
@@christopherwhiteside8103 The AI voice is reading propaganda.
Says a fake name from The SImpsons... FO troll!
No megaproject will save the world. Mother earth will take back what humanity has taken from her.
It's NOT the whims of the climate! It's the whims of a pesky creature that's us!! We are to blame for the incoming catastrophes, it's not 'the weather, FCS!
Frequent hurricanes in New York City ??When did they happen??
0:26 this is the old Manila Bay strip.
Great Video ! thank you - we hope that Venice will not disappear
Climate change here wrongly mentioned..😮
Global warming will not cause sea-level rise
And this video shows that if there is a real threat, we can adapt!
Gotta love ai propaganda
Nice video, I found it very entertaining. Is it factually accurate? Probably not. Propaganda most definitely.
This constant mantra of "rising sea levels" is so annoying. The ocean's levels are clearly the same as they have been for hundreds of years. Its obvious when we compare photographic records of sea side structures. Yes, some areas like Venice are SINKING - but that is also well documented. While we should always work to mitigate the affects of storms and the other natural cyclical climate change items, we don't need to give in to fear.
Don't rock the boat. Trouble maker
But my fear mongering to control the simple minded!!! How else am I going to gain power?
I have yet to seen the water rise buy a millimeter it has been the same for hundreds of years but if it goes up 50 ft in 12 years we won't have to worry about widding Panama Canal
Great point! @@jamesogden7756
