You have to trust that command has a plan and you don't often pick a fight on the actual border , but where it makes sense.....I saw the lower ranked UAF soldier that claimed Russia just walked right in and usually in war when you can walk right in , your being allowed to.....UAF command ) which is often silent ) said today that they knew the time and place that Russia was going to attack and that is a very subtle way of saying they were ready to engage when and where they wanted.....Critics would say why did they not evacuate the border settlements then ?....Because then Russia would know that their plans were already known.....This reminds me of Aug 2022 all over again when Russia was claiming big gains , UAF was quite , and we learned a week later that Russia was actually getting smashed in Kherson and were about to get completely routed in the North......You always say you don't believe Russian sources , but to be honest you believe them far to much and repeat them in your honest attempt to always be unbiased.....things are not good for Russia and they are not going to have the big summer some have predicted....you will see !

@@nuke_Godjira I’m curious how you come to that conclusion when Russia’s forces outnumber Ukraine’s by 5:1, their mechanised forces outnumber Ukraine’s by 28:1, aircraft by 13:1, helicopters by 12:1, artillery by 5:2, and still Russian losses are at 5:1 with over 1000 per day being lost over the last few days alone as they close in on half a million KIA. At the current rate, Ukraine can afford a gradual tactical retreat knowing that every Russian attempt to advance right now is turning out between 14:1 and 20:1 losses per day. Even with Russia’s higher population, such losses are not at all sustainable and whilst Ukraine continue to make Russia pay heavily for every metre moved forward, this will be more and more devastating and demoralising. I don’t think there’s a single military leader in Ukraine that has performed any worse than the best Russia has to offer, and neither Shoigu nor Gerasimov were ever the best in their roles. The only area Ukraine are losing more people is the 190:1 loss rate of civilians killed. Is that what makes you think Shoigu was better than Zaluzhnyi, because he orders the targeting of kids, the elderly, disabled, and other non-combatants?

Civilian control of the military is the norm in the West. In the US, Lloyd Austin, a retired general, needed a special exemption to become Sec. of Defense. Typically the Defense Minister in a western country should be someone with executive but not necessarily military experience. The military experience comes from the chief of the general staff.

This channel when the conflict first started was the place to go for up to date / accurate reporting, now, not so much. I still watch daily updates because he covers important topics, but the reporting is becoming propagandist at this point. Every title, every Thumbnail jpeg, everything is always "Heavy Russian Losses" "Meat-wave attacks" and a "Thumbs up / smiley" thumbnail. It's misleading, because in reality, Ukraine is currently getting crushed, I am seeing so much Russian footage on Telegram lately / massive Ukrainian losses and there's nothing in this video reflecting the reality I'm seeing from everywhere else. I hope he goes back to his roots of accurate reporting, and being pro humanity and less pro war (as this channel constantly is reciting the Ukrainian message for more weapons & money). The encouragement should be for a peace settlement of sorts to save lives, not more weapons.

Up until the the beginning of the Ukraine war there was talk of how NATO is no longer necessary. This war never would have happened if Nato, in the 2 decades prior to the beginning of the war had not been systematically turning Ukraine into a NATO satellite. Russia had no choice but to make a stand. This war is a war against NATO not Ukraine. Never forget the CIA coup of the leadership in Ukraine in 2014.

I'm nerdy enough to look up how many US Defense Secretaries served in the military? And, lucky for me, there's an article from 2011 which addresses this question. It says, of the 21 men appointed SECDEF over the last 64 years 6 were never in armed forces (29%). I looked at the ones since then and there are 6 who have and 4 who have not. So, currently 10 of 31 have never served in the military. A couple were acting Secretaries but there was one of each, so the more accurate # might be 9 of 30 because they weren't appointed. So, 30% never served is my final answer lol

@@attilamarics3374 You wanna say that there's a 2nd most powerful position in Russia? Ha ha ha, you must be nuts, Putin owns it all, everybody does what Putin wants, there no 2nd, 3nd and so on.

Shoigu was already on the Security Council of Russia since he was the Minister of Defense. This was a promotion to the #3 spot on the Council as the Secretary of the Security Council. This is putting him to start to be a lot closer to Putin and lining him up to be a potential successor to Putin just like the dead leader of Wagner predicted. Putin should check his personal security arrangements unless there was already an agreed upon handover date.

Interesting comment. However, based on Shoigu's absence from the May 9 festivities, the shuffle doesn't have the feel of a real promotion. It's more like the axing of Ivanov and another top deputy to Shoigu were just warmups to his eventual elimination.
Also, from the videos we have seen over the last 2.2 years, Shoigu could become "closer to Putin" than he already was. Nevertheless, "succession planning" has been a giant enigma in ruzzia ever since Lenin seized control, so I don't know but what you might be onto something there.
I first took the news as suggesting that Putin is moving the pieces on the chess board around so as to remove potential threats to himself from the MOD and FSB. The third element with the power to take Putin out is the Rosgvardia. I somehow doubt that its head, Viktor Solotov, would have the courage to depart from some 33 years of work as Putin's bodyguard (with promotions along the way to his present position) to pose a threat to Putin's security and power.

I assume you know the entire cabinet is fired at the end of each election, and some are rehired. Others, are transferred. A few are outright fired. It's the Russian constitution....
