I was looking for this exact gun as a joke gun so kudos but the fact that you put FPS ratings at different levels of gas has earned you an long time subscriber, never seen an airsoft channel do that. Thank you for the effort!
You can add a fixed hop system to these WinGun revolvers pretty easily. Remove the inner barrel, then use a round file near the end closest to the frame to create a shallow groove. From there, superglue an o-ring into the groove and cut away the excess. Be careful with the size of the groove. If you do it too deeply the o-ring nub will sit too low and block the bb. Too shallow and you won't get much hop effect. Put the gun back together, making sure the hop nub is centered at the top of the barrel. You can try glue or tape to shim the inner barrel into place to keep it from shifting from center. Adding hop up will give you increased range and will also lower the power a bit. There are tutorials online you can search for with pictures and everything.

Very good and accurate review. I have two of them (pellet version both). They are pretty fantastic little guns, but as you mentionned not quite adequate for airsoft... I also regret that hammer position AND the FOUR CLICKS !!! Thanks for this super nice vid dude ! Oh btw, I just ordered the Umarex Winchester (legends cow boy rifle, with shell ejecting function, smooth bore 4.5 pellets... can't wait !!!)
I've played in a game with a special edition smoke wagon and a speed loader. Hard to do but it was fun. It's no full auto m4 for sure but you can play with one of these if you know what you are doing. I have this one coming in the mail and a spring powered Tokyo marui. I'm really curious to compare performance and my smoke wagon is showing some wear. I want to be kind to it so I'll let one of these guys take his place as one of my sidearms. I also watched a video on how to convert single action army revolvers into fanning race guns and I'm going to try it with one of these i think.
Nice review! I have a few questions though. 1. Why does the hammer not rest on the chamber as it should? 2. How is the weight? Is it anywhere near realistic? 3. Can you get a real wooden grip for it?
The real SSA had problems misfiring when the hammer was resting on the bullet, so I'm assuming they put a gate in front of the gas release to stop that from happening in airsoft form Feels pretty heavy, but not quite as heavy as a real one. Still quite nice feeling, especially for airsoft. You'd have to make your own grips if you want them to be wood, and those would be pretty thin, I'd say stick with plastic, it looks good enough, especially when your hand covers it lol
Put blue tack inside the grips and handle frame hollows also put some squished pellets into the blue tack, this gives the grips a solider sound and gives the gun a bit more weight, obviously make sure your co2 bulb can still be fitted
I'm not a huge fan of revolvers in airsoft but.. I may have to consider getting this. It'd be a fun plinking gun, plus the realistic loading shells and all that would be great for cosplay or even film. Lastly, and probably most importantly, freaking revolver Ocelot's gun. Lol
A 0.38 tu m'as vendu du rêve ^^ J'aime beaucoup le mode de rechargement/déchargement ainsi que le petit click que fait le barillet quand il tourne . Par contre la crosse est vraiment horrible, tout comme les marquages :( En tous cas ça doit être sympa à manipuler !!
La poignée me dérange pas pour le coup, ça donne une impression "bois laqué" que perso je trouve pas mal fichue. Par contre les marquages sont vraiment moches oui.
i bought this co2 revolver for my father ( christmas gift ) is pretty nice, just unfortunatley, accuracy is really poor :/ i tried looot of types of bbs, madbull, G&G, bls, nuprol, ISC, something was better, something worse but everytime was accuracy quite poor, for example when i compared it with my WE G19 without any upgrades, glock's accuracy was really better, probably is it cause that revolver have more parts in front of barrel, unfortunatley i dont know any guys which own some AS CO2 revolver so i cant compare this one colt with any other, about accuracy... hopup is too fixed and is quite poor, but ... totally cool weapon :D still i like it
Hey, just wondering what casings you're using. They look much nicer with the faux lead than the ones that come with the standard SAA. Are they from another gun, custom, or just third party shells? Thanks.
its not and its actually what the colt single action army is like they just dont know much about guns older than them and probably think that 1911 style straight handles are the best on all guns
Well, I'd say it depends of what are the most important aspect to you. If you want the most realistic one on a look point of view, I'd say the Tanaka is the best choice. If you want a realistic appearence and a more realistic manipulation, get a marushin. If you want a full metal version, the Umarex is fine. As far as I'm concerned I prefer this Umarex version better, because of its removable cartridges and full metal aspect.
Hey Khanseb, do you have any control over the subtitles? Because on my computer they have a whitish background and I can't read them against your white background.

besides obviously using cartridges is there any other reason not to field the gun? I'm aware most players are using semi auto GBBs as secondaries but it looks like it has enough range and accuracy to stand with them. at 370 FPS that meets most minimum engagements of my local fields (10 feet with 400 FPS aeg). would you say it's fieldable as a novelty gun? not a main secondary but something you could run around with for a few games? also, how many shots cam C02 fully power? 2 - 3 full loads?
Just to answer your last question even if it's 6 months to late. It can shoot at least 50+ shots before it starts to run out. I'd say anything between 5 to 6 full reloads.

Anyone have any concrete method on dropping the FPS specifically for the SAA? I intend to get it below 340. Ive heard using cable insulation on the shells can work but I am yet to recieve mine to test.

here in greece we have a site which is selling that gun and on the information tab it says that the weight is 867 grams

Well in my local fields, that power would be too high for a handgun type model. Other than that then sure, why not, as a "novelty gun".

If this is modified to shoot 6mm bbs, then it should still be able to shoot the 4.5 mm bbs if you have the 4.5 mm shells, right?
I have no idea. The inner barrel isn't going to be the right diameter I guess so even if it could shoot them, it wouldn't shoot them good.

les douilles de Dan Wesson sont compatibles Tom, j'ai testé sur la version "expendables" du SAA

Rear loading will mean more power and more and better accuracy (not enough to be noticable though) because it gives the co2 more time to expand
