Thanks for the idea! As I have a walnut top to my tv stand, I ended up using a wooden watch box for mine. As they are used to display collections, they have a glass lid on them. So this allowed me to eliminate the monitor riser so it is now just a wooden box centered on my stand. The boxes are ~$10 more than the catch-all, but in total it is about $5 cheaper since you aren't bying the $15 riser. I will admit I was a bit unsure about the glass on the top of the watch case causing issues for the cameras, but so far there has been no issues. Thanks again!

That is incredible. Your whole setup is 10/10! Unfortunately, this trick won't work for me, because I have a moving wall mount, but this is such a great way to do it! I bet the color accuracy improves too, as it's obvious that with the standard setup, the camera is not able to see the screen all that well. There's only so much they can do with calibration too. Bravo!

Thanks for sharing this superb hack.
After taking delivery of a brand new 65"LG QNED TV I wanted to try and do something so that the camera would not be mounted on to the TV, I pretty much followed your setup, only thing that is different is that I managed to buy a black monitor riser with a built in tray which is perfect for placing the camera.
Only thing that seems to be an issue is that with the camera being so low it actually sees the LEDs of the govee strip and the bottom bottom centre has a tendency not to react to the TV as it locks on to the initial colour of the strip, will have to investigate a way of somehow stopping the canera from seeing these LED's, I think in your setup buddy the soundbar blacks the LED's so you probably did not experience the same issue?

I have a question... I just bought an 85" Samsung television... I also bought the Govee Immersion kit for the 75" to 85" and I have a wall mount that is only 1/2' off the wall (so clearly I want the light kit closer to the edges). Doing the math, I think I am going to have to be about 7" in from each side if the corners were to touch. I am wondering if I could add two 2.5" splices (just cut each strip into three at the connectors and solder in 2.5" extensions... This should fix the dark corners. Any thoughts about soldering RGBIC? I wouldn't be adding any more chips, so theoretically it should still work? Thoughts?
