The 4 strand braid is coarser and cuts through the current better kinda like a serrated blade, whereas an 8 strand is smooth and slick and is held by the current a lot easier causing a belly in the line and less feel. 4 strand also has a lot better abrasion resistance as it has 4 strands which are twice as thick as an 8 strand for the same PE rating/diameter braid. 👌🏻
Well that’s your first mistake, it’s in the shops best interest to help you, Chappy is no liar and there are definitely lots of coral trout in Yeppoon, I’ve been there and caught plenty. Go in have a yarn and get some pointers to put you in the right direction for your local waters
Man I would prolly retire from fishing if I done that.... not really. Bro Ur always slaying well Ur mates watching, do u just not film them catching or u just catching them all first? Always cracks me up.
Haha nah man I always put all, or mostly all the fish in the video to show a true representation of the day. I also learn alot from watching myself fish while editing so I got double the experience. I do feel sorry for the boys sometimes but then other days they school me, and I’ll even post that too! It’s too hard to make weekly videos let alone not use good content.. I could make epic banter videos with no fish but I’m not sure they’d be for everyone
Haha yeah I’ve done it a few times but never that quality!! This is the third time in a year of owning this boat that I’ve seen it happen on the jig, Dad got a legal red emperor and a coral trout and my mate will got a stripey and a small red, she’s got the double mojo the old Haines !!
They are DUO pliers that I got way back in my sponsorship days, I got them as a Christmas present back in 2012 I’m pretty sure and they were discontinued way back before that. I doubt they’re still available these days unfortunately..
Great fishing mate. Just a question about using jigs. Is getting snagged while drifting a problem? Any tips on how to avoid getting snagged? Really appreciate any info.
Thanks mate, as with any kind of drift fishing getting snagged can be a problem. The key to avoiding a lot of snags is to really pay attention to where your jig is and being sure to not let it drag on the bottom. I use multi colored line which helps me to know where my lure is in the water column and the thinner braid and leader combo I run also eliminates a lot of the belly in my line giving me better feel and allowing me to not let my jig drag on the bottom and into snags…
Watch closely bro, I talk about finding a new spot and how I approach it, I explain where to find them on that structure, I explain the faster lure presentation, I talk about sounder interpretation, the gear used… As with all aspects of lure fishing, you need to pay attention to the details… Without videos like this on RUclips you’d have to do a shitload of experimenting with alot of unsuccessful trips to get that much of a head start. Anyway I hope you could at least take something from this video ✌🏻
Your gone make me lose my mind, up in here, up in here!!! 👌👍

@Micksgonefishing Gotta love it when you stumble on that kind of ground! Would go off at night too! Chopper n nannies! Great stuff brus!
what did you mean by we'd hear the zippy'ness of the 4 strand but it makes your day easier? Wondering if its better than 8 strand somehow

@@Micksgonefishing good intel, thanks brotha!
Wow that’s awesome. I have coral trout in my bucket list. But sadly I live at Yeppoon and we don’t get these here.

Whats the specs on your rod reel combo you using 🍻
Pe1.5-4 NS Boca and a 1500HG Ocea Jigger Limited
Donkey heaven. Awesomeness
I know right, definitely hasn’t had much attention!
Hey Mick, what are the split ring pliars that you use.
They are DUO pliers that I got way back in my sponsorship days, I got them as a Christmas present back in 2012 I’m pretty sure and they were discontinued way back before that. I doubt they’re still available these days unfortunately..

Hey mate. How heavy is the braid and leader your using ? Thanks
It’s pe3 Siglon ADV, it’s 35lb average breaking strain, but 50lb if you tie an FG or PR knot.
Should be on the spot 😂
Bang on it 👌🏻😂
Just saw a man reel in two fish with one cast.
Hahaha it’s the ideal outcome!
Trout town 🤙
Haha sure was!!
I can't take you serious without a beard
Haha I can’t either, it’ll be back soon enough 😂
I'm missing the beard!
Hahaha me too mate, me too! This sunburnt chin stuff sucks!
What size lentus you use Mick, S,M,L
Generally a medium length 3/0 but on that Jigaro I ran a 4/0 long just due to the size of the lure…
Hey Mick what reel is your gold one?
Ocea Jigger Limited 1500HG
@@Micksgonefishing hey mick have you ever seen a gold 1501? Been trying to find one but no luck. I know they do exist.
