It is an awesome highway cruiser. Done 6000kms in just 3 months. Engine is completely relaxed cruising at 120kph and there is lot of punch left if you want to gun it to 140-150kph. I have personally done a top of 155 kph (edit 168 kph now) while riding but it's not recommended as Indian road conditions suddenly change and it becomes risky at that speed. That being said, the bike is comfortable with extended periods of running even in hills. Have visited Mussoorie, Lansdowne, Chakrata, Dhanolti, Dehradun with bike running upto 14 hrs in single day in the hills and the engine was completely fine with it. You have to remember that the engine is from BMW G310 which is essentially an adventure tourer.
Hi bro, happy to hear that you're enjoying your bike. Just a question, did you experience any engine or part breakdowns during your tours? Tvs is not particularly known for their reliability so I am a bit curious as to how it will perform on a long tour. Will be happy to know about any other issues you have encountered in your ownership experience as well!
@@ameyapandarkar5085 yes tvs might not be known for reliability but AGAIN THE ENGINE IS FROM BMW AND NOT MADE BY TVS. TVS BIKE MANUFACTURER ONLY ADDED SOME COSMETICS OR FEATURES FOR BETTER OVERALL EXPERIENCE. Hope this might be helpful for you !
I recently bought it and seeing vibrations Is it because of first time? I heard few say the vibrations will fade away after 3rd service due to fully synthetic oil...and few say to switch to liqui moly or shell instead of motul.v
@@ameyapandarkar5085 The Vibrations are there, but it's not from the engine. The fairing near the console and near the seat is not well designed and it causes vibrations when you rev. Can be easily fixed with double sided tape stuck beneath the panel. After 4th service, the vibrations are dampened down quite a bit. Although keep a check on the engine coolant and engine oil change intervals for a smooth performance. The one downside of this bike are the brakes, I feel they don't have that good of a bite (maybe my personal experience) but I still would prefer more responsive brakes. Rest is all good now at 11394kms
250 to 350 cc engine capacity is ample enough to cruise at around 100km/h, which is the speed that I guess is the optimum cruising speed for any Indian road conditions. It is both safe, economical( mileage and wear and tear), easy work for any engine (250cc-350cc) to maintain that speed, and less heat generated.
Happy 2nd anniversary Strell Wishing you all the best in life Please do not forget about the CBR650R and Ather 450 drag video. We are literally waiting for it. Lots of love
Late to the party, but huge thanks to you. Recently I have started taking interests in cars and bikes and this one won my heart, but it being a sports car i had my doubts whether it would be good for long tours or not. The video you have made is just perfectly informative. It presents a clear picture enabling the viewer to take a decision whether this book serves them well for their touring needs or not.
There is option of dual side grab rail available for luggage tieing. Also Strell u r correct that tail bag would be the best option for luggage carrying as I have used that and have done approx 3.5k km ride .
Hey man, just a question, how's your ownership going after 2 yrs? Have you experienced any mechanical or refinement issues with the bike? Just asking coz Tvs isn't particularly known for its reliability 😅. Also did you have any issues with the bike during your long tours?
Still many are confused in between KTM 390s and Apache RR 310 and also the Royal Enfield 650 twins. They are almost at the same price range ( onroad). Just 10-20k difference. I hope a video will be on that point. Also doubt about the vibration. Which is more refined, KTM 390s BS6 or Apache RR 310 BS6?
Amen! Its definitely confusing. I think its more about the use case. 1) Touring + luggage carrying capabilities + cornering capabilities + occasional track days + overall fun = Duke 390 2) Comfy sports bike + solo touring + occasional track days = RR 310 3) Touring + luggage carrying capabilities + overall fun = 650 twins Not sure if pillion comfort is better in Interceptor or in Duke 390.
Hey bro.. Can you explain how many KMs you did with pillion? I currently have an Apache RTR 200 4V and I was looking to upgrade to this primarily for touring with my wife as pillion. Does adding extra foam on rear seat make any difference?
Strell, earlier also mentioned in some video. There is a lot of static noises when u do high speeds. Pl look into it, its very unpleasant with earphones 🙁...Baaki content as usual, like rtr310 build quality - ek numberrrr!
That was in the bs4 version, it had some kit vibrations and other issues..but TVS had solved it in the bs6 version of the motorcycle...now it is better..
What if I raise the handle after market....will it impact the performance? I really like the bike but not comfortable with the lean-forward riding posture
U r awsome bro. Ur talking style is so soothing. Great job bro.. I booked this bike in the new colour scheme , but I'm a little confused that red is good r this new dual tone paint scheme . Pls give ur opinion , so that I cn change the colour within time.. 😉
