Twice I have handed them business cards from local race tracks where they can be morons and not risk the life of innocent travelers. One girl (yes moronic females exist) actually showed up to the track 3 weeks later.(Daddy had some money lol) She had a grand old time, now she's a regular.
It doesn’t excuse someone not looking before they pull out or back, but I am amazed by how many white cars there are in that Quebec City clip. Why would you buy a car that blends in with the snow in a location like that? That just seems like tempting fate to me. 😂
To be fair, it was really hard to see past the piled up snow. But he should have cleared off his back window so he didn't back into the parked car. I did that once as a teen and figured out how dumb I was on the first try.
First video: Without a wide angle rear view camera, a driver backing out is absolutely blind pulling out of a parking space next to a truck or taller car. If you can't see the driver, then the driver can't see you. I watch for reverse lights like a hawk when moving past parked cars. BTW the wide angle camera and the cross traffic warning is the main reason we upgraded from a perfectly good 08 Honda accord that had lots of life left in it.
I used to watch for reverse lights like a hawk until mfgs began using them as "area lights" when the car is parked. Now I don't know if you are backing up or parked.
I don't think enough people know about this. Some backup cameras have a wide angle or split view mode which will let you "peek" around the corners to see traffic coming from the sides as you're backing up. Terrific feature, though you may need to dig around to find it and figure out how to use it.
I just wish parking lots would stop placing "front in only" signs around the place, back in should be the norm, but it's not even legal in some places!
Finally, someone who has the brains to not shout "I HAVE A CAM. I HAVE A CAM" to a person who is obviously going to lie and get away with their behavior in the future. Let them lie to the police, let them receive a punishment they deserve for once
No! You let them lie and incriminate themselves! And I can speak from my own experience, telling someone that hit your car that you have a camera will NOT keep them from lying. A few years ago I was driving past my local hospital and an employee who was parallel parked on the road didn't bother LOOKING and drove into the passenger side of my car... While waiting for police, we talked and I told him I had a dashcam....Cop came and we both told the same story. All good, right? Motherfucker told his insurance company that I was parallel parked and HE was driving down the road and I hit HIM! (I don't understand how his insurance company believed that considering the damage was on the passenger side of my car and the driver side of his car.... ) There was a police report that stated what REALLY happened AND THAT HE WAS AT FAULT, so I had to pay for a copy of the report to send to his insurance company and I sent them the video of the accident.... Within minutes of sending those emails they called me and accepted fault. They also told me that the guy that hit me had immediately cancelled the insurance policy he had and started a new one with the same company thinking that he wouldn't have to pay anything and that he wouldn't be found at fault for the accident if he canceled the insurance he had at the time of the accident. They also told me that it wasn't his first time having that exact same accident in front of the hospital that he works at and he was told by his insurance company and by the hospital to park in the PARKING LOT and TO NOT PARK ON THE STREET. (He still parallel parks on the street years later, I see his fucked up car there all the time) His insurance company dropped him immediately and flagged him so that he'll have to pay an arm and a leg for insurance for the rest of his life. So no, telling the idiot that hit you that you have a dash cam will not keep them from lying...

@@Captainllama The level of ignorance in this comment is mind boggling. "$45"? What are you babbling about? You do know about those scams, right, where the car in front brakes hard on purpose, or backs up, and then claims they were rear ended or hit on the sides when trying to avoid contact? It's not about getting money for repairs, but to put in a claim hours or days later that, because of the impact, they suffered an injury (whiplash is a common complaint since it doesn't appear until a day or two later, and that is why at the scene the driver and passengers appeared "fine"). If there is no evidence, the police will almost always blame the car in back, and the person "impacted" could claim injury like I said, and sue for thousands of dollars, mostly for punitive damages. So please, before ridiculing someone, do some research or you'll look like the ignorant you are.
Some of these fender benders could be avoided if people would steer their cars slightly instead of laying on the horn. The horn has never been my first instinct, avoiding an accident safely is my first reaction.
The horn rarely seems to work either. The most common reaction, if there is a reaction at all, is from the other vehicle to slow down/stop when they here the horn, which is the last thing you want if a car just pulled in front of you!
4:54 while yes they couldve aborted their reverse WHEN they got a visual on the road but how do you expect someone to see THROUGH a 6 foot snowpile?!?!
0:443:35 over and over and over again in these videos I see people refusing to hit their brakes in these situations and instead fight with the person going into their lane, even going 75 mph down the freeway. WTF? I mean obviously the other person shouldn't do that and are in the wrong, but you have such a big ego you can't fathom them getting into your spot in the lane and would rather get into an accident? Yikes.
Why do the cammers, both likely males as determined by one’s voice and the other’s physical looks, feel the need to write “Asian lady” in their descriptions?
You're not paying attention. Same guy submitted clips of two different accidents. This one was a month after the first one, with new damage to his car.
It's brake. Pressing the brake. Spelled brake. Get out of the passing lane when not passing. It's not the "fast lane" it's the "passing lane." If you are not passing, move over. Doesn't matter your speed. Going 100 in a 70? Get over if someone wants around. That's the law where I live.
Last clip: It's obvious that you don't watch this channel. When you you are in that situation, you aren't supposed to watch what is going on and anticipate what will happen. You are supposed to just blindly go because you have a green arrow and let them hit you. Go back and watch some previous compilations and you will see.
I do infact watch while screaming at the screen at how bad some of these people drive and how oblivious to the other cars they are while doing so. In hindsight it would have been one way to get a nice payout from the tow truck company, but I was coming back from lunch at work in one of their cars so it would have been a big hassle to deal with my insurance and works insurance and the tow companies insurance + all the lawyers. The guy to my left got lucky as well as he was screwing around and didn't go right away so he didn't get hit either. The tow truck was nice enough to stop at the next light where I imagine he had to pry the seat cushion from his starfish.
My best guess is that that person was using voice-to-text, speaks with a fairly heavy accent or mumbles, intended to say "likely" and didn't proofread before hitting "Reply". I have a friend who frequently uses voice-to-text and I see similar errors a lot.
The cammer that shows up twice, one with the Asian lady and then the truck has a consistent problem of not just braking when someone else is doing something stupid. Sure, neither of those vehicles should have tried to enter his lane but cammer could've saved themselves a whole lot of insurance headache if they just tapped the brakes for one second
Why would you stop in the middle of the freeway?!? Omg people are freaking stupid!! Pull over to the side of the road! All for a small bump! Not worth it to risk your life but everyone else that’s driving on the freeway!
#12 the turn signal on the Kia car is completely hidden. What kind of stupidity was Kia thinking designing a turn signal that is not visible to the traffic behind it!? How is that legal? So unsafe.
Cops arrive and she blew under still not going to get her off, as she will simply be charged instead with DUI, or driving while impaired, as she did blow a measurable amount of alcohol, which would also be correlated by the blood and urine test at the district surgeon, so she will get the charge, and likely find her insurance will refuse the claim as well, citing the DUI/DWI charge as her breaking the law deliberately, or at least breaking the conditions of the insurance.
5:15 prime example of why you don't hog the left lane or pass on the right. The left lane hog is the real problem here because passing on the right never would have happened if they just moved over.
Sometimes you gotta pass on the right. Some drivers are just *that* retarded, and or don't care. I've flashed my brights, beeped at them a couple times, and...nothing. They are either in their own little world, or get pissed that you won't go around.
This is a prime example of why you learn to change lanes properly; you have to pass people eventually, you can't just stay behind slow traffic forever.
@@CurtinChad The reason the left is the passing lane is because the driver sits on that side, and thus has a better view of what's in the lane he's about to change into. After you've passed traffic and need to change back into the right lane, you know what traffic you have just passed. So (for 2-lane highways) it's impossible for an unexpected vehicle to suddenly appear in the right lane for you to collide into. Not saying you're wrong. The pickup definitely did an unsafe lane change. But OP is right that the root cause and the bearer of most of the blame is the left lane hog.
@@solandri69 I understand how passing lanes work, but you and op poster are analyzing this with tunnel vision: Someone didn't check their surroundings before making a pass - _that_ is why this clip is online. A lane could slow for any number of reasons, that has nothing to do with how well a driver changes lanes as a reaction to the situation.

@@sikes442 More cars are adding a supplemental signal in the side mirror housing, to counter this. However, I don't think most pickup drivers properly account for their reduced visibility due to the height and length of their hood. They need to keep a larger following space from the car in front of them. Instead of tailgating like they're driving a Civic.

Yup they were tailgating. Me BIG truck, you little car. Apparently everyone must know where they are going ALL the time. Mistakes not allowed when this guy is behind you.

Not me. Moron would probably blame you & lie to the cop. Video footage helps but who knows what sort of mess you'd have to extricate yourself from.
I have literally pulled morons out of their wrecked cars, making sure they're alright and then laughed my butt off. I tell them look there's no rule saying you can't be an idiot (we're all guilty of it in one way or the other) but choose better ways to let the idiot in you out. I love how she takes pictures after being at fault @ 1:14 but the dumbest decision is stopping in the middle of the highway.

7:42 driver: who puts a guard rail in the middle of the lane
7:21 You forgot to mention that you were tailgating as well.
Love the one yelling at the white Equinox, learn how a stop sign works! That is after, not coming to a complete stop herself. Hypocrite.
@@bills6093 I understand. If in doubt, use caution.
@@bills6093 I HATE those. Especially when scanning for a space in a crowded lot.
(I don't understand how his insurance company believed that considering the damage was on the passenger side of my car and the driver side of his car.... )
There was a police report that stated what REALLY happened AND THAT HE WAS AT FAULT, so I had to pay for a copy of the report to send to his insurance company and I sent them the video of the accident....

If you start sliding in snow and ice on the road, take you foot off the gas, Do Not Brake, and counter steer in the direction the car is trying to go. Come to a full stop on the shoulder, take a deep breath and resolve to drive ten miles per hour slower.
Shift to neutral to reduce drag on the drive wheels. The drag alone can cause you to spin out.

7:56 Darwin had other plans for the drivers. The driver got lucky!
I can definitely admit when I'm wrong. This was me. People hog the left lane daily, and I've lost my patience with them so I just move over. 🤦♂️
