Wowowow this version sounds like a single tracked Brian lead and it's, just wow, stunning. Brian sometimes, even though it's crazy to consider, doesn't get his due as a singer. He's literally one of the GREATEST of all time.
Pretty crazy to hear this. The final produced version of this song covers up a lot of the vocal work by the guys. Quite amazing harmonizing that you don't really get to hear the full effect on the final track.
This came out in early 1965, so it must have been written in 1964, listen to the harmonies and chord-changes, Brian´s composing was far ahead of his time!
@@oldiesgeek454 yes, it was a B-side, but I was correcting OP in saying that it came out in early 1965 when it was actually released as the B-side to When I Grow Up a year prior, meaning that it was most likely both written and released in 1964
No words to express how beautiful this is....just pure gold! I can already tell I'll be listening to it repeatedly for a good long season... so satisfying to the soul. 🫠
I have been a Beach Boys fan since I was 15 yrs.And this song is one of my all time favorite love songs by Brian Wilson . His Falsetto voice was so incredible. And this was one of the songs I sang to a girl that I went out on a date with .And she was so touched ,when I sang this song to her .She kissed me and hugged me a lot that night . Brian Wilson is extremely Talented, and is a Genius .Tim.
Just spectacular vocals-- really great to hear the vocal track without the band track. Someone really steps out nicely from the group harmony at the end.
Eerie-sounding yet soulful--in this song, Brian has the voice of an angel! (Back in 1964, he could still hit the high notes.) As Brian observed in a December 1976 interview in New York City: "Songs are the most honest form of human being there is--there's nothing that lies about a song." That's timelessly true. At last, I'm privileged to hear the undubbed, "raw" version of this classic BB tune. I am indebted to you Brian, for your entrancing compositions, the results of pure musical genius! 🎸🎸🎸👼👼👼🇬🇧🇺🇸
Inspiring. I'm currently producing a project to restore the beauty of 4 pre-Pet Sounds Brian masterpieces hidden in the messy production in a cappella arrangements by some of the finest arrangers in the world. Warmth of the Sun, Kiss Me Baby, Please Let Me Wonder and Don't Worry Baby.
@@jmeshel1 I just listened to the four songs. Words really cannot explain the internal joy I experienced listening to these renditions. As a young boy, I poured myself out listening to side B of The Beach Boys TODAY lp. A 10 year old, in love with the girl who wasn’t interested in him. Brian’s vocal yearning and the Boys execution of his harmonic chords sent me to a beautiful place that is understood by you. Your want and need to keep these particular BRIAN classics alive tells me so. Thank you for your dream and giving us all a fresh breath of yesterday’s dream.
Plenty of musicians are deeply inspired by the beach boys and their harmonies to this day.. no need to be mean about it iust because that stuff isnt topping the charts currently
That Brian Wilson "Whine" falsetto is simply stunning.
That's actually a good way of wording it! Never heard that but it sure sounds like it 😁 amazing nevertheless!
Its the Brian Wilson wail not whine.
Lol. Nope...it's a definite whine. It is.
Chills.
And the harmonies! These guys were born to sing and to write great songs!
How does this song exist? It is otherworldly.
Literally it was recorded in ‘64. Way ahead of it’s time
God works in mysterious ways.

singer, harmonies, songwriter. What else? Oh yeah, producer! Even George Martin was amazed!
These vocals are amazing… Brian really had a beautiful voice
Brian just had one of those voices that brings you close to tears.
Beautiful vocals,especially from Brian
Love it. It is the unique timbre of these men when they blended their voices that also makes it so special.
My God, words can't describe how much I love this song. Its transcendental beauty and splendor are not of this earth.
Sounds like a dream!
A masterpiece written by kids. Unbelieveable

Favorite beach boys song, I’ll never get tired of it…just pure beauty
Brian is about a million times more of a genius than anyone gives him credit for.
Yeah but Brian just thinks he’s a real cool head makin real good bread.

One of my favourite Beach Boys songs!
I was and am in awe of the clear falsetto of Brian .
I have listened ,sang with and analyzed Brian.
A curse and a blessing.
You have sung with Brian WIlson? What was the experience like?
Same dude. Between him, Beatles and Jeff Lynne, those are the three I look to for making harmony

Brilliant Brian and The Beach Boys
oh my god, this recording must be what the music is like when you return to a spiritual body...amazing!!!!
Mesmerizing
Without Mike’s part this song would be lacking, I love his baritone. Don’t argue with me.
Mike's leads are hit and miss for me, but his bass/baritone parts are ace.
Once again I am transported to heaven with those harmonies, beautiful and amazing! Thanks.
Well thats just wiped me out..I'm a wreck.
As Brian would say
Masterpiece!

Excellent comment.
Brian was still hitting the high notes in the 90's and 00's, they just did not sound like the voice of his youth.
Brian used to be a great falsetto singer in his youth, and his falsetto played a major role in the Beach Boys' early success.
Mike's bass is so clear here.
Mike can barely sing?
@@stuartstuart321not true. Hate on Mike, but That’s Not Me is a great track. Bob Dylan can’t sing, yet they’re both famous.

Im starting to realize these Mike haters are like the "george is the best most talented beatle" or the "paul is dead" guys

Astonishing..all of them....this is perfection
I love you, Brian

1961/1970...Brian Wilson est Intouchable !!
