Today we’re comparing two of what are widely considered to be the best pairs of open ear earbuds on the market, the OpenFit vs the OpenRun Pro from Shokz. Both use an open ear design, which allows you to stay in touch with your surroundings while listening to your music - whether it be in the office or during an outdoor workout. Letting you tune into your sound but not out of your surroundings. But where these two differ is in their form factors, and this means, that depending on your lifestyle and how you plan to use these, one will be better over the other.

I have both and by far prefer the OpenFit. I started out with the OpenRun for about two years and didn't like rear head band. The main reason I stuck with them was the ability to maintain situational awareness and not feel uncomfortable with plugged ears. I bought the OpenFit six months ago and find them extremely outstanding. I wear the OpenFit daily and often forget they are on my head.😊
I have had the Openrun Pro for almost a year now and they are the best headphones overall I have ever owned. With that being said, I just bought and am testing the Openfit because as your video pointed out, there are certain use cases were one may be better than the other.

I love the feel of the vibrations on the open run and the sound clarity on the mids is just the slightest bit tinny in my opinion which I personally find fun. Too bad the demo ones I tried got completely stuck in my curly hair before I even got them on!
Great review. I just learned about the openrun but now I'm liking the openfit after watching this. Like you mentioned, as a girl, the openruns would be bothersome with my hair so the openfit would be a pro. Plus, better for office use as well for me. Well done, Dion!

Hi I listen to silent classical stuff , is open run pro more suitable? It’s 50 $ cheaper + I was told latest model released in pro compared to open fit , is that right ? Thanks

I'm kinda torn. I want a pair for the office. The OpenFit are nice because of the size, but I feel like my boss would prefer to see the OpenRun Pro because they are not covering any part of my ear whatsoever.
I have owned many ear buds, but because of my left ear I have to have over the ear buds Powerbeats pro were brilliant, but these open fits I wear all the time and sometimes forget I’ve got them on, good sound, good comfort and good control 👍🏽

I've been using my Powerbeats pro for years, but these openfits are the only thing that seem like a competitor. How's the pairing speed compared to the Powerbeats? I have many Apple products, and if the Openfits can pair as quickly as the Powerbeats, I'll consider a purchase.

How does the volume of each compare?
I have open fit. For me they are perfect. I run, I can hear, wear beanie hat or baseball cap, plus my running glasses. Totally comfortable .❤
If you were to buy one of these to wear all day long connected to your phone, but not necessarily listening to anything all the time - which would you choose?
In your opinion what’s the better option for blue collar workers/ trade work? I’m required to wear hearing protection ear plugs so I’ve recently found these as an option I can wear at the same time to listen to music and podcasts while I work

I carry my open run without the case and I have no risk of loosing an earbud besides the longer battery the small magnetic cable is easy to store and carry and the open run gets a full charge very quickly

How goes openrun pro leak sounds if they're supposed to vibrate instead of sending out sound waves? I was aiming at openrun because I thought it would be completely silent from the outside, now I'm concerned
The openrun vibration also vibrates the air around it, which results in sound waves, just a weaker diaphragm.
can i go out running and do intense workout with the openfit without them getting uncomortabl and getting off my ears?
In my experience yes.
I don't think you mentioned that you can use them singularly meaning you get heaps more battery life.

As with any open air system, there will be some leakage. For me the openfit has less sound leakage than the open run for example

It's inflection, used to powerfully and confidently conclude a message.

I wish that content creators bothered to take a public speaking course to make their presentations more pleasant to listen to and consequently more effective.
