My 17 year old is a junior in high school. He has come so far through all his hard work, and lots of support from those around him. He's on track to graduate next year. He also has a girlfriend who he took to homecoming this year, and they're also talking about prom!!! He still has his challenges, but the strength he has shown makes me believe that he can make it!!! This song is so beautiful and shows the strength and resilience of all autism families out there.

wow! I am not sure how I got to this video, but I am soooooo glad I did. This is the first song I ever heard that had to do with autism. My son who is 8 has autism. Doctors said he would not talk--his first word was "car". That moment we found strength to keep moving forward and finding a ways to help our son communicate with us. I raised a son with autism. It was one of the hardest things l.have ever gone through in my life. I got PTSD from it. I wish he could express himself. If he was hungry, tired, hurt, needed a hug or whatever. I had to guess. Pay attention. Never really knowing what was going on in his head. I have ADHD as well so it was especially hard to cope daily with the chaos. For what it was worth, l apologized for not being a good enough dad to him. I told him I love him so much. I think he at least acknowledged my regret He's my boy after all.

Sorry for the incomplete post. This song and video made me cry! I have a 28 year oldson with Autism and God is truly a miracle worker!! He had no speech and very little understanding but God changed all that! Because I was faithful to God, he was faithful to me and Mike(son). Mike graduated high school, went to community college, earned a certificate in baking, and holds down a job for the past 6 years! He lives in his own apartment with a roommate and leads a very full life!
