That 1 week delay really happen to me. This is the first time I watch someone finally mention it. I'm really glad stumbled on your videos, it really boost my confidence to reach my goal. Thank you for this realistic and informative videos, I hope more people watching this to understand that reaching body goals is a life long journey.
@@oolala53 Honestly it's been up and down journey but I can say that I have reach my goal. I keep learning about Intermittent Fasting, my hormonal cycles, and watch what I eat everyday. All you need is consistency even though the result maybe slow..
I love the new style of this video, really high quality production and the structure is excellent, loved every second ^-^ I learned so much from your channel, I watch and rewatch. There is so much useful information, without all the hype we see everywhere. Thank you for sharing ^-^
Thank you, Sarah, for this wonderful comment! A lot of thought went into this video so it's good to hear that was time spent well. We have more videos coming up covering topics we haven't seen covered well elsewhere as much. Looking forward to hearing how you feel about those!
Damn! Nice vid! the production value jumped! Also, I hit a plateau when 5 lbs away from my final weight goal and fell off hard off the diet wagon last week. Feeling super guilty and annoyed with myself right now.
Thanks Omar! The on-track and off-trackness is normal. Main question to ask yourself now: what is stopping you from getting back on? And then keep asking yourself questions until you find the true reason that's holding you back. Hope this helps! I am rooting for you!
Objectively knowing what is and isn't healthy is super important, and needs to be separate from what that makes us feel. Food companies spend copius amounts of time and money to research how to make their products hyperpalatable and hard to resist, and this makes it incredibly easy to go over your calories if you're not cafeful. By eating mostly healthy foods, you can create room in your diet for occasional unhealthy treats. Since it's part of your regular balance, it gets rid of that "bad" feeling, and since you're eating mostly clean, the impact that treat has on progress will be minimal. But that doesn't change the fact that ultimately it is not a healthy food.
I find your videos really interesting. For the past few months I embarked on a autoimmune protocol because of my severe eczema. Surprisingly, I lost a good amount of weight. And know what not to eat to aggravate my condition. I think sometimes personal health experiences makes you realize you should not to do yoyo dieting and just do it for the right reasons - to be healthy. At the end of day, that mindset will be difference you can persevere with your lifestyle changes or not. Granted, it does take the body at least three months to get used to not being in craving mode all the time. I was constantly craving sugar during the first three months.
I never got into cutting carbs - but then, I actually never sticked to diet, because I'm lazy and easily unmotivated. Now I've been working out for 6 weeks (3x per week, today was my 18th training session \o/ each session includes a resistance training rotine and cardio), and I haven't seen big changes in my body (some clothes do seem to fit me better, but no drop in numbers). What I'm really noticing, on the other hand, is how more energetic and strong I'm becoming, the dimnishing of pain and how easier it feels to concentrate at my tasks, and I'm LOVING it (plus, weirdly, I'm no longer PMSing or having menstrual cramps Oo...). Now - I don't avoid carbs, I avoid fermented stuff that makes me sick (heartburn, stomach ache, those things... Gave up on soda solely because of the pain it brought me afterwords).
My big thing is I’ve been on a very exhausting graveyard shift for the past four years now. Every year I have consistently gained five pounds. I am not sitting at 163lbs, 5’4” at the age of 42 and feeling the very difficult challenge of a slow metabolism. It’s interesting cause when I’m on holidays and eating right and staying active I can loose weight much faster then when I’m working and doing all the same things. The struggle is real!
In the books about Intuitive Eating they talkt at lenght about « moralizing » food and how it damages our relationship to food and utlimately our health by banning groups of food and dividing them between bad and good.
This is great advice! Overwhelmed! I want to get off social media all together because of so much I call TMIO=Too much information overload. Thanks for sharing.
Very good very niice! Great video! I've been just trying to eat slightly less than what I consume without any rules. I usually take weekends as cheat days and I'm still losing weight. Slow and steady wins the race.
My endocrinologist also has told me that losing weight should be done slow and steady for it to stick as I put on the weight I'm at slow and steady. Her and the rest of my medical team has also said that with the amount of time I sleep out of 24hrs (nearly 18hrs a day 😮😢😢) as it appears that I have cfs/me among everything else that I have been diagnosed with in terms of chronic illnesses/conditions that I SHOULD indulge in about half of my food cravings no matter what they are (if healthy/"good" then can have more but if junk/"bad" then eat less) because chances are whatever it is that I'm craving for, it has ingredients/food components (fats/sugar/sodium/potassium etc.....) that my body needs to function even though most of my body functions are running a bit sideways if not straight up backwards/wrong..... Eta- my endocrinologist has called this from of dieting to be intuitive dieting aka listening to one's body/brain but do not over consume.
The thing I noticed Whenever I eat something high in protein and fat I'm sure my lean body mass looks the best and I look slim as long as I'm digesting the protein and the protein is inside my belly ! My skin is soft! But I feel terribly sleepy and unmotivated and unproductive! It never feels energetic or active! Whenever I eat fiber I feel so energetic !!! and I tend to think so much I feel thrills and so good! but it tends to make my hair and skin dry! My lean body mass go and I look chubby a lot! My hair thickness goes away! I tend to overthink! Whenever I eat caffeine I tend to get a energy crash yet it makes me feel kinda anxious! Whenever I eat fat I feel the coolest! I believe maybe a diet high in fat along with fiber is good!
I just have to say that, though premature cutting out of highly palatable, low, nutrient foods can often be a mistake, I can tell you from 10 years in, that I was very happy when some of these foods became so less satisfying that it just felt stupid to keep them in my diet. I think this is a very hard conclusion to come to when you’re under 40. Each person has to come to their own conclusion, what percentage of their diet they need to include such foods to feel that they are enjoying themselves, but still providing a robust level of vitality. And you can’t know what a fabulous freedom it feels like to be perfectly happy with the idea of never having a doughnut again until you’ve experienced it for a few years. I’ve got different issues now that I am 100% positive would not be cured by bringing those foods back. But I do know that there are some principles here that I’m going to figure out how to apply to my situation, which is being in my correct BMI range without being at the low end and being at 28% fat. It’s possible that I could live out the rest of my life like this without it actually causing any really big problems. But it does irritate me a bit so I haven’t dropped the pursuit yet.
Ha, I love the logic in this video -- that is completely ignored by some commenters. If Keto and Intermittent fasting and HIIT work for everyone why are so many people watching weight loss videos? And why is the Weight Loss industry so rich?
This is a major problem for me. I almost always gain back the weight after 6 months, in part, because I just get sick of the food. I did a liquid diet (it also had entrees) and that was a great idea... until... I just plumb got sick of the food. At a certain point I couldn't eat it - at all. My body, at least, craves different tastes. I also found that diets like Keto didn't work for me. I have always naturally chosen low carb foods so I don't think I had an insulin resistance issue. They tell you almost everyone does but after blood tests and doing the diet I didn't. I am betting my fat loss is due to dieting.
Just eat the traditional food of your culture and limit the sweets. Obesity is a recent phenomenon. Also intermittent fasting or fasting has been practiced for thousands of years by all humans
@@nenabunena i’m sorry, but you are the one who presented yourself as if you knew the answers. Just do this. Don’t try to put this back on the person who commented. If it were as easy as you say, lots of people would be doing it, and not having problems and struggling and regaining, but they are. By the way, the traditional foods of my culture led my grandmother, to obesity and dying at an age 11 years less than her husband. On my father side, it led to both of his parents dying before I was ever born. OK, I admit that it probably wasn’t totally the food, but none of them were drinkers or smokers.
This is sort of dangerous.... in that a diet of mainly highly refined carbs IS bad. When it comes to diet having nutrition goals and making food choices based on those goals is better. Like I need 122 grams of protein, and then choosing a protein source for that meal that has 30 grams of protein to meet that goal. I do avoid high carbohydrate food but it's because I need to follow a ketogenic diet to treat epilepsy. I don't think carbs are evil just that too many doesn't meet my goal of maintaining a metabolism in a ketogenic state to feed my brain ketones which mellows my excitable neurons.

If fermented foods make you feel bad, you may want to investigate if you have an underlying gut imbalance issue.

Well, if the food industry has put rocket-science-level-scientists on the case of getting us to eat and consume more, this is not surprising.
