His wife clearly said the only way to feel the hurt, shame, and embarrassment that she felt when he cheated is to confess to your audience without your costume or character to hide behind. That had to be really tough. Plus, they fixed their relationship and you can tell it was by him integrating his wife and kid into the stream so he could be more involved in their lives. Playing video games 8 hours a day his headspace was in the gaming world and not his family world clearly..... he let it get to his head. They fixed it by making his world include them.
Not to mention his wife and kid started showing up to events where Doc was appearing making sure he doesn't mess up again.
