On Twitter they said that supporting Linux isn't high on their priority list right now, but it would eventually get support given that the developer that answered the question is Linux user himself and he was already looking into it, so probably the reason the game is compatible now may be be cause of this, and since they have no problems with Linux and want to support the deck, it will probably continue working
This is imo the biggest downfall for Linux and it's not even their fault. No matter how much Linux has grown over the years, developers still have the "not a priority" attitude towards it. To be honest, that's a fair mindset when you consider over 70% of PC's users worldwide use windows. That won't change if Linux can't change the perception of the gaming community and it's developers.
Nice. Pretty decent performance on steam deck. Also the game is pretty small download (18GB or something), which is kinda suprising these days with most games being 50GB+ Been playing it on Linux with a RTX 3080 and proton experimental without any crashes so far (~9 hours), but will check proton hotfix out. lots of fun this game tbh, but its slowly dropping the player numbers sadly, hopefully it wont die out in like few months.
Fingers crossed that they formally embrace Proton support! I've wanted to try it out but I'm hesitant to get an account ban if they change their mind prior to announcement.
i think the reselution scale option TAAU is is more suted for the steam deck. with FSR since this is a pretty fast game there are many pixelated artefacts. With TAAU Sure its more blury since its not arteficielly upscaled but its a far more consistant image. I use it on 50-60% with everything on low AND THIS IS IMPORTANT set your GPU clock manually to 1100 mhz and fps cap in game (not the deck's cap) to 50. You will get a better frame time consistancy. With all this i get a allmost locked 50 fps with some dips to the 40-45 fps range.
Yo, if u guys wanna use keyboard and mouse without stutters, go to button lay out and change the template to Keyboard (WASD) and Mouse, it works for me so it might work for u too.
For upcoming shooter titles, it would be nice if you could test if the game supports mixed inputs. I know you don't like gyro and will stick to the gamepad controls, but it's still good info to have on the video for other SD players. Great video, I'll give this one a try, cheers!
I haven't tried this on Linux yet, I do plan to go back to it on my deck, probably bazzite But on Windows I added a 800x600 resolution and I got about 90fps with iffy frametimes. I can see in your recording that frame times are a lot better on Linux in general so try adding a 800x600 resolution, it should def help make it better!
IIRC they use 2 anticheat, their in home anticheat was the problem, the eac module was there since the beginning. (I wrote on GOL discord at october 29th that it had eac module enabled, and there was syscall issue, turn out it was their in home anticheat.)

One of the best channels on youtube. With all the flack takken, still manages to keep it up. Well done.
Much appreciated!
What was the flack taken?

Thanks for the cool vid! What version of steam are you running?

You mean like mouse and gamepad together, for the touchpad?
@@gamingonlinux yes
@@Eduardo-ig6qm right, will keep it in mind :)
also, supporting both inputs together usually means that flickstick configuration is possible, which is amazing for the deck

For a developer to enable this, they literally just have to check one box...it's that easy.
BotW on switch gyro trained me. Hate to go without it now.
Just tried it and still messaging: tool not allowed registered
Does it have a decent player count?
It does, actually!
the announers are AI? that kinda explains the somewhat "straight line" of speaking
Yeah they definitely don’t sound quite…normal
@@gamingonlinux I'm not native and for me their ai voices sounds kinda fun and enjoyable. I can't hear cringe.
Since last weeks update, it don’t work
Like at all??? I was thinking about giving the game a try
